Is there a way to filter maps/game variants by most downloads?

Subject: The Official and Only Halo 3 User-Created Gametypes/Maps Thread

Tactical Realism

This is supposed to be like you are a marine. You must work as a team and play like its you are actually trying not to die instead of charging into certain death. It is elimination and best of seven rounds. You take more damage and your shield does not recharge to represent health. There are two yellow power-ups at each spawn that replenish health, but use them wisely, they do not respawn. All the weapons you can use are at each spawn but there is low ammo and they do not respawn so shoot wisley. I have added alot of cover thoughout the map and gotten rid of vehicles. This is very fun with alot of people. Please download.

Game Type

Map Variant

  • 11.11.2007 2:24 PM PDT

Use the Gaurdian Escape map with the Escape! gametype I posted.

Escape is a single-player puzzle/platformer game.

The idea is to make it from the spawn point to the ball as quickly as you can, anyway you can. High gravity makes jumping harder and lifts less effective, and obstacles block your every move. Can you find a way before time runs out?

This was designed as one-player challenge; more than that can play, but I would not advise it.

Post your best times!

WoodLands 2.0 is an upgrade from its predecessor Woodlands. I have played WoodLands and WoodLands 2.0 getting hundreds of opinions and ideas. Here is a map that has the good suggestions and opinions added in along with plenty other fun things.

It is now MUCH more neat and has more/different bases. (See Below)

STOP HAVE YOU DOWNLOADED THE GAME VARIANT? THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE PLAYING OF THIS MAP. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE MAP TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL. THE GAME TYPE VARIANT CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE

Features

*4 Well thought out, well designed bases
*Fast, no shielded Zombies
*Normal speed and shielded Humans
*Zombie may drive vehicles (They spawn after 1 minute and aren't a huge part of the game)
*Humans may not drive the vehciles (You're better off not in them if you're a human)
*Starts off with 1 Zombie
*Exploding Snake (Fusion Coils that spawn over the river every 30 seconds for a BIG bang.)
*Endless fun all around

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sky Base
Where at:
-At the big Forerunner Wall on the side of the map.
Pros:
-Initial spawn is right next to the teleporter to get up.
-Good place to choose if you’re just getting used to the map, you’re up high so you can see most of the level and see where most of the others go.
-Good view of most of the map and the sender teleporter that sends to the Sky Base.
Cons:
-Not very defensive
-Zombies usually head here first
Attributes
-2 4x4 “islands” of crates.
-Radio Antenna acting as a bridge between the two “islands”.
-Sturdy, usually it’ll take 3 rockets to take down, which is very unlikely unless you get a jerk on your team.
-Crates are set to respawn in 10 seconds so if someone does knock it down it’ll be back up soon.
-Radio Antenna is held in place by weapon holders, still possible to blow off to the ground.
-Radio Antenna is set to 10 second respawn.
Weapons
-2 Battle Rifles
-1 Rocket Launcher
-1 Sniper
-1 Flame Grenade
-Other various grenades
Rock Base
Where at:
-Over near the downed Pelican.
Pros:
-Over looks middle of map and the teleporter that sends you to the Rock Base.
-Contains the Secret Teleporter (Read about later on).
-Pretty good defense
-Just far away from the receiver teleporter that the zombie can immediately lunge at you.
Cons:
-Zombie can get here a bit faster than you, look around and make sure he is not camping near by the teleporter or in the base.
-Once through the teleporter you begin to slide downward into the base. After you hit the base wall, to move back up the hill you must repeatedly jump up the hill.
Attributes
-Pretty sturdy, 3 Blockades being held up by closed missile pods.
Weapons
-1 Sniper
-2 Shotguns
-2 Battle Rifles
Screenshots
Fortified Base
Where at:
-At the “Waterfall Base”
Pros:
-Fortified very very well.
-If you have enough people you can defend for quite a while.
Cons:
-Far away from the initial spawn.
-Zombies can easily beat you here, look out.
-Once you’re in, and zombies are around, don’t expect to leave.
Attributes
-Somewhat sturdy.
-4 Entrances.
-2 Entrances on the side that are some what easily to get through but then the Zombie most crouch jump over closed missile pods, slowing him down significantly. Made up of blockades with turret case stacked behind it.
-1 Entrance on top of the base, closed off with 3 triangularly stacked radio antennas. Hard to get through and for the humans it is easy to kill someone trying to get through. Easy to get through if the Zombies are using a vehicle however.
-1 Entrance through 2nd secret teleporter (Read about later on).
Weapons
-2 Chain Gun Turrets
-1 Rocket Launcher
-2 Shotguns
-4 Battle Rifles
-2 Spikers
-2 SMG’s
-4 Sentinel Beams
-2 Trip Mines (Long Respawn)
-4 Plasma Grenades
-4 Spike Grenades
-4 Frag Grenades
-2 Fire Grenades
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~

Secret Base

Where at:
-Top of “Waterfall Base”

Pros:
-Great Sniper Perch
-It will take a while for the Zombies to figure out how to get there. (Someone usually sees how you do it and then gets infected and shows a handful of zombies.)

Cons:
-Hard to get to, once you get used to it, it becomes easier.
-Easy to fall off.

Directions to get to:
1.Go to the Rock Base
2.Once you hit the barricades look towards the teleporter you just came from.
3.Repeatedly jump up the hill towards the right of that teleporter.
4.Eventually you’ll reach a crack that you won’t slide off.
5.Look down, you may not be able to see it yet but there’s a teleporter down there.
6.Follow the crack down until you start to slide.
7.Once you start to slide try and move to the right.
8.If you did it right you should be on top of one of the bases, DON’T MOVE.
9.Look around, there is very little room to walk on, jump to one of the radio antennas and follow it.
10.It will lead you to two floating turret cases.
11.If your confused look at the screen shots.

Directions to get to the second secret teleporter: (brings you into Fortified Base)
1.Once through the 1st Secret Teleporter turn left.
2.Look down.
3.Jump into the teleporter down below.

Attributes
-Part of the top of the “Waterfall Base”.
-2 Radio Antennas.
-2 Floating turret cases that you get to by getting on the radio antenna.

Weapons
-1 Sniper (10 second respawn)
-1 Shotgun

"I blame canser its going slutting itself around now so are bodys act like were aging faster stupid whore of a desies" ~ GruntX

Map Variant: Ωmega Man
Description: If you've seen the movie classic, then you should have a good idea of how this map is set up. You start off up in your well-defended (though not impenetrable) base. As the last man standing, your only goal is to survive five minutes without being killed by "The Family," a group of self-righteous mutants that managed to survive, but were hit worst by the plague. With superior weaponry, speed, vision, and the ability to drive vehicles, you do have an advantage. But "The Family" has fire, so don't get cocky.

Gametype: The Ωmega Man
Description: The number of zombies starting the round is set to 15, leaving one man left standing right from the getgo. The survivor is started off with poor camo (to represent The Family's poor light vision) and an SMG (but with access to a whole arsenal of weapons inside the base). The zombies, on the other hand, have no shields, preform only 50% damage, cannot drive vehicles (in fact, they refuse to), and spawn with only plasma pistols and incendiary grenades. There are mongooses placed around the map, should the Ωmega man ever leave his base, so as to simplify his return (just drive through the teleporters blocking the base's entrance). Your goal is just to survive for 5 minutes while the zombies are trying to kill you. Once you die, the round ends.

My variant of infection that turns the zombies into vampires!

The thirst never wanes, and you must feed it.

Slowly it eats away at your shields (5% decay) as you hunt those who give you nourishment (100% vamp). Quickly you run (125% speed increase), dodging bullets that pepper your resistant hide (150% DR) while picking up blood plasma infusions (custom power up, 50% shield regeneration, 5 seconds) to stake your thirst until you rip open your target with your claws (sword, infinite ammo).

But if your not under the curse you still have a chance. Your best bet is to stay together and use what is available to you. Be it stakes to thrust threw the heart (spiker, needler, spike grenades), sound to throw off your location (radar jam), an extensive list of firearms (assault rifle, battle rifle, smg, magnum, rockets, shotgun), or the vampires biggest bane: light (flare). Do not wonder off because you never know when you will be attacked (No radar).

If all else fails and your the last man standing, do not fret, experience is on your side (150% damage increase) and you will find yourself to be much swifter (125% speed increase).

Game variant here. here.

Map variant here.

This map is a variant of High Ground called Normandy Beach. It is based (loosely) on the Allied invasion to push the Axis powers out of France on June 6, 1944. More description at the link below which will take you to the map variant.

Map Variant

This is just one idea of a gametype for the map. It's called DDay, and is an instant-arm, instant-fuse style to make it more fair for attackers. If you see the map, you'll understand why they need any help they can get. Also, in the description of the gametype at the following link, I give another idea for taking advantage of this unique (to the best of my knowledge) map variant.

Gametype

Hopefully you guys will enjoy this as much as my friends and I have.

VIP Tactics
VIP Tactical

These variants together create a game with high damage, lower health, and no shields. Ammo is limited and every shot must count. Cover is provided as the VIP must be escorted to the beach with the attackers gunning for the VIP's head.

Subject: secret platforms above the pit!!! crazy intense gameplay.the best C...

All that really matters is..Red vs. Blue

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=14422558 heres the link to my map well just copy and past it sry one of the greatest CTF maps ever..mazes and teleporters at the pit all surrounded on secret platforms above the map

the game is teleport CTF the flags are located in crazy location in the towers...not the bottom nor the middle but the very very top...teleporters will have you going through mazes and intense combat areas...the main section where the teleporters all connect to is all sealed off where the invisibility would be making it pretty intense when players pass by each other trying to get to the flag...there is a main section it is a room sealed off so you can only travel using the teleporters in and out.. the flags are on each side of the map inside the tower and the flags are located at the very top...this was done so by jamming a teleporter above the roof in the map...from there you will enter another area thats above the map on a platform structure above the invisibilty room. and since the gravity seems to hold you down there you cannot jump so there are barricades forming a maze to reach the flag goal...this took a very long time to even out and perfect this is ctf at its best and this map is great for all other gametypes because of its unique style but exels the most in CTF.. each side has equal balanced weapons you will start out on bottom floor each side has a grav lift to get up onto the tower.. all the locations on this map are located in secret places above the map..u gotta play this...o yea and if someone finds where i have hidden the rocket launcher wich i doubt any one will lemme know and tell me where you found it...have fun but i know u already will

So I started making Guardian into Lockout as many others have been doing since this game came out. Well, along the way I started to add more and more to the map that I thought would make for some pretty interesting and fun 4v4 games. The map is still set up semi Lockout ish, but there are new bits and pieces along the way that I think would make for a fun game if played correctly. There are weapons and nades spaced out for both teams to control their given spots just like Lockout.. ie. BR tower vs. Sniper tower. There are also equal amount of equipment on the map accessible to both teams that can really change the flow of combat. They are there, you have to find them, and then weigh the risk/reward of trying to get them in the thick of the battle. You could die or save your teams arse. Also seems it would make a very good oddball map. The map and associated game variant are in my fileshare which I shall link and are named Lockout Fun game and map. DL and play it, tweak it, do whatever. Just let me know what you like/dislike about it and what should/could be changed. Is it too much, too little what? And if you like it please add me for customs because I would like to play it with serious people who play customs alot. Thanks. Should be played 4v4 or 5v5.

Murphys Laws:
If you drop a cat from a building, it lands on it feet, buttered toast lands butter side down. what happens if you glue a peice of buttered toast onto the back of a cat and drop it off a building? It hovers, and you make a freeway of hovering cats.

Quick Flash - an ideal game for people seeking a change to CTF

Constuct, MLG CTF rules. Attackers spawn witha power drainer, flare and radar jammer. Missle pod, Slazer and Flamethrower are all there. Dotn take the purple lifts..... Im not going into it but just trust me here. Take the one you spawn facing... Hop on a mongoose, and DONT SHOOT THE BARRELS. The blast radius will kill you before your gunner notices that you were a bit close to them. When they explode, every single thing in the room will cease to exist. Get inside te courtyard, get to the sword room steal the flag and run down the support beams and take it home. A good team can score 7 or 8 times a round against a bad one.

Defenders have a much better chance than in my last game of defending against a team of roughly equal skill, unlike my last map, the dreaded deathtrap. They spawn within a room where a rocket launcher replaces the sword, there is 2 brute shots and 2 shot guns spawning in the "courtyard" you all know the room. It is advised that you stay in this room and not venture out into the "flash" rooms, just spamn grenades there and hope that people dont jump to the sniper platform, as i do. By the way, the sniper platform has a teleporter on its lower level that leads to the top little side walkways that are at the top of the courtyard.

Teamwork wins. People trying to face the whole other team by themselves will get themselves killed.

Good Luck, just try the map and if you dont like it then you can deleate it, PM's regarding feedback are much apriciated, no matter what it is.

If you're like me, you love explosions.

So, you'll love this map.

With a single grenade or otherwise fuel crate exploding force, you send the Last Resort base into nearly endless explosions.

Recommended you use Forge for quick and better views (You can float and see from the air without Theater)

Bifrost

The legendary Rainbow Bridge that links Asgard to our realm of existence has been broken in two. You cannot pass...

========If you play with four or less people on a regular basis then this map is for you!!========

In trolling these posts on a ridiculously regular basis, I've found that a lot of people hate this map. I wasn't sure how I felt about it until I made a smaller version for my wife and I to play together with a couple of friends on the weekends. A lot of these maps are really big, and we seem to spend more time searching for one another instead of getting right to the killing that we all love to do. So here's what I've done:

- Cut off bridge access to the Gold Base You can still use the Man Cannon, but when you reach the Gold side, you will be automatically be shot back in the other direction. There are two Gravity Hammers by the Blue Cannon, and the clever Spartan can enter into some mighty hammer duels.

- Added Teleporters Most are here to hinder your access to the Gold Base, but they can be used strategically to prevent an untimely death. The destinations are random, so there's no telling if you will end up in a better situation or not.

- Added Weapons and Equipment I think Bungie deliberately put a sparse amount of weapons on the map to enhance the Forge experience. One will never be at a loss for weaponry on Bifrost. The only problem you may encounter is which ones to use.

My friends and I have only played Bifrost in FFA Slayer matches, but I imagine King of the Hill or Oddball would be insane. We may try it out next time.
I've seen a lot of really imaginative and cool takes on the maps that Bungie provided for us. With Bifrost, I just wanted to create a solid, fun map for smaller parties. I've enjoyed making and playing it, and I thought I would share in case there are others who have the need for a smaller playing field from time to time. Feel free to comment; perhaps you can come up with a cool suggestion that would enhance the playability of the map. All positive feedback is welcome.

I've been around this forum A LOT, looking at many fantastic maps by you guys. I have made some on my own that I truly think are the best maps I've ever played for Infection, and that's really saying a lot. People on my friends lists have been praising these maps and begging me to put them on file-share, so finally I did. Here they are, you asked for them, and you got them. I present to you, Portal 2 HELL and Constricted, along with the appropriate game-type, Monkeys. Enjoy!

============================================================= ===============

It's called Portal 2 HELL

-Humans start out under the level and race into the fortification across the force field bridge where the shotgun normally spawns.
-If you're too slow, you'll be zombie food.
-The only entrance to the fortification is crossing the force field bridge, or clever zombies may find alternative ways.
-There are two portals at the end of the fortification and each one leads to a separate base.
-Plenty of weapons will keep you alive for awhile.
-Zombies have a custom power-up and invisibility available to them so watch out.
-Portals to the sides of the fortification lead to...you guessed it, HELL.

============================================================= ===============

The sequel to that is Constricted

This map is similar to it's previous installment "Portal 2 HELL".
-Humans race into the fortification near the sword spawn area,
-Turrets and plenty of weapons will help defend you.
-Two radio antennas extend outwards to the sides and the two portals on the end of those lead to two separate bases.
-Any portal besides the ones on the radio antennas lead to hell.

These maps were made by myself and STARSalphateam, have fun!

============================================================= ===============

Gametype made for portal 2 HELL and Constricted

Monkeys

This is an Infection gametype.

-Monkeys have 200% speed, 75% gravity
-Alpha monkey starts out with secondary Gravity Hammer
-Rest of the monkeys start with sword.
-Last man has infinite ammo, overshield and normal motion sensor.

Other than that, it's zombies as you love it!

============================================================= ===============

STARSalphateam and I have worked very hard on these maps and have more in development for you guys. If you enjoyed these maps, please leave feedback. I really appreciate it.

Sandtrap Map: Tunnel Raid 3.0

I was inspired by the original tunnel raid series. Using the two ancient structures on this map I made a sealed tunnels that connect with teleporters. So far, there is no way out, but if you find one please don't exploit it. Have fun. Same weapons and equipment just a new place to play. Use with the original tunnel raid game variant.

Game Variant: Lazer Tag
The Pit Map: Lazer Tag Arena

I realize someone made a Lazer Tag game, but I assure you this is different. Spartan Lasers and you have to capture 7 zones, but they're not locked in so hold in the most for about 5 minutes I believe. Lots of fun with a lot of people. Use the game variant as it will make it more realistic. A few ways to get out even with the game variant, but I won't tell. =)

Construct Map: LP Zombies
Snowbound Map: Tchrunnoble

For LP Zombies my friend and I made a map. Top base is his and the bottom one is mine. Not much to explain o.O
For Tchrunnoble my friend named it after that because of some Nuclear Powerplant that melted down in Siberia or something. I dunno. But he made the Human base and I made the Covenant bases.

Little bout me~ I like to make maps mainly, mostly zombie types. I prefer to use maps that aren't normally used and make it so that there is ALWAYS at least one way in available and one way out. There are of course some ways that are blocked, but not permanently, and others that are blocked for good. x] Enjoy! I also like to make it realistic. Having a goal set in mind and inspired while playing matchmaking or other custom games. All original I assure you.

Teleporter
Made for mostly close and some mid range combat, the upper and lower parts of the bridge portion of the origional map have been isolated and strewn with teleporters leding to random places. These teleporters, depending on your luck, can be either your best ally or your worst enemy. Use my telfrag gametype.You get an extra point for killing the pink leader and the gravity is high to keep people inside the map. Lots of fun.
telefrag

chamber of boom
Made for frantic, chaotic, flame and explosion related fun. you start out inside the bases with all exits blocked except a teleporter, grab some nades from the pile and head through. You end up in either the hallway or behind the big shield door (the two locations prevent camping) leading to the underground chamber where there are flame nades, a flame thrower and a plasma battery to watch out for. Play this with my chamber of boom gametype which spawns you with a brute shot.
