"Let me summarize this update
1) Cheating is okay as long as it doesn't affect others"
The impression I got is that it's not worth doing anything about stupid people who want EXP that badly. This isn't like those button glitches in Halo 2 that gave players a distinct advantage over other, honest gamers. Ideally I'd still like to see losers like that banned on principal, but Bungie's got more important things to do.
Agreed
"2) We let you guys think the recon armor exists for 2 weeks just so we can laugh at you"
I never heard any indication that the recon armour was ever unlockable. Besides, Bungie is well within their rights to -blam!- with our puny little minds if they so wish. I don't mind, since my puny little mind is engulfed in the awesome that is Halo 3.
There was no indication, but nor was it said by lukems that it WASN'T, in fact, he came into the Recon hunting thread around page 100 or something and laughed at someone for lying about having beaten the game with all skulls on legendary ( this was a theory of ours) and yet he never said it wasn't unlockable, which (now) makes us all pissed
"3) We aren't talking about the custom games list because we don't care what you guys want"
Correction: Bungie doesn't care about what whiney little -blam!-es want. The Custom Games playlist was probably cut from the game due to technical reasons or time constraints. Such is the nature of the industry.
Correction to your correction: Achronos posted in one of the "We want a custom games search" a while back said that it wasn't put in because it would screw up matchmaking, that no one would use matchmaking and then their precious system would be favored over by Custom Games search, he even said it could be put in, but they just don't want to
"4) Security shoulders and other armor permutations aren't unlocking you say? We'll ignore that and just talk about some less prevalent glitches."
I think it's pretty clear that such things aren't unlocking because you're doing it wrong. If there were a glitch involved instead of simple human error, Bungie would have mentioned it.
Actually, this is a very well known error and has been addressed by fan sites and other sites
"5) We spent 3 years making a multiplayer game with only 10 maps, now we will get to charge you $10 more for something that should have been included with the game."
They spent a year making a game with an expansive single player on-top of the multiplayer aspect. Pro Tip: They charged for extra maps in Halo 2 as well. You have a 360. If you can't afford 10 dollars for those maps down the line, tough. It'll be easier to buy them this time around anyway, due to the Marketplace and the MS points system.
This doesn't justify only releasing the game with only 10 maps, they have disc space, (and it obviously wasn't used on the graphics, I like em, but it's DEFINATELY not Xbox's top) they can put some maps on it
Stop taking things you don't like personally, people. All of you who are AGAIN whining and complaining, leave. Get out. Put down your keyboards and your controls and go cry in your backyard or something. This is how you react? None of you deserve the singular consideration Bungie gives for it's fanbase.
We react because we spent 130 bucks for a game with false promises. Re-cut and re-mastered my ass, the scenes from H1 and H2 are WORSE than in the actual game itself. Limited edition? Something is not Limited if there's like 100,000,000 of them. They lied, and we're pissed
