I can't get past the second level, "A Traitor's Grave". Any tips/ideas? I would probably have no problem if I had some warriors, but as it stands, either the gnome blows everyone up, or my archers just keep backing up, running from the undead melee warriors. I can rarely get that Journeyman to heal anybody, he just gets attacked. So again, any ideas?

Tanikaze, first of all, you don't have to follow the villager. Actually, he will just get you into trouble. If you ignore or even kill him, it will have no effect on the outcome of the level. When you approach the monument, the mayor of Otter Ferry will flee from your troops. It works well if you have part of your troops attack in a way which will drive the mayor into the hands of your other units. Usually, when I go after the mayor, I drive him with my archers and J-man so that he walks down the narrow path lined with trees right into my dwarf. Then it is just a simple matter of blasting him to pieces with a bomb or two. Another way to do it is to drive the mayor and his Thrall to the J-Man (your fastest unit on the level and much faster than the Thrall and the mayor), use all of the J-man's roots to "unheal" the Thrall, then hack the mayor to pieces with your shovel. Before you know it, you will be playing Siege of Madrigal. Just wait until you get to "Silvermines". Now THAT is a level.

For some cool films of it, check out the Myth masters section of MBO.

Thing is, I haven't actually gotten to the monument. Those troops who ambush you always get me. Is it possible to go right around them?

You can try go around them, or you can practice the skill of "dancing" a unit in front of a soulless so it draws the fire, then hit it with your archers or dwalf.

I would suggest either killing or ignoring the villager, then exploring the outskirts of the map (you might even find some interesting things). You can take a few times to explore the map and plan out a strategy. In any case, having all of your units follow the villager right into the bulk of the dark forces on the map while the mayor slips out the back way is a very frustrating way to handle the level. When I start the level, I like to walk my units (west I think) through the wooded area rather than over the desert area.

The ghols generally skulk about just out of you archers' range, so try to lure isloated ghols into attacking by facing away from the ghol of interest until he gets close enough so that if he runs away, he will only die tired.

Try to avoid fighting groups of Soulless and ghols at the same time, as you don't have any melee protection. The easiest way (although it isn't the most exciting or spectacular) is to take your time, lure ghols into archer and dwarf cross fire and use the trees and other obstructions to get your dwarf close enough to the soulless to toss a bomb without taking a lot of damage from barbs.

I don't think the mayor will actually start to run alway until one of your units gets close enough to him to spot him on your overhead map. Don't be affraid to try a crazy idea, no matter how insane it might be. If it doesn't work try to think of a different or modified plan of attack. There are many many ways to beat each level of Myth, just try not to get frustrated if one doesn't work. I apologize of I have given too much information about the level away.

Trust me, you haven't. I'll try going around the outskirts. I'll lure the Ghols out and kill them and such, and when the time is right, I'll surround the mayor. It ought to work in theory.

Thanks.
