There has to be at least 3. I'm almost certain that they would make a Halo game to kick off the new x-box, i mean why wouldn't they?

I could understand if the hold human race got wiped out and then a hole new race gets in war with the covenant. And the hold game gets changed with new weps and other things like that.

This of course is pure speculation but I don't think Bungie would want to make anymore after Halo 2 the series could become dated and bland, like many others with a million sequels. It wouldn't suprise me at all for Halo 2 to be the last in the series. And for a launch title with Xbox next or whatever they are calling it now that is very very unlikely since they are trying to release the new Xbox by 2006 at the latest at least last i heard. Which leaves a very short amount of time for Bungie to make a new Halo. I'd be happy we are getting the second and not really worry about anymore until you have finished it. :)

3 would make sense from a marketing term halo I believe is the most popular game on X box so Microsoft wants as much profit as possible so they want bungie to keep making them. Bungie doesnt want there baby to turn into mario or sonic so they will say no more. Microsoft and Bungie will then make a compromise on a third halo but no more after that.

I have the perfect plan to prolong the Halo sieres FOREVER, and it WILL work:
First boycott all other video games ever.
Then, buy absurd amounts of H2 games.
Then, all the other game manufacturers will have no money, while bunige is the most successful company in the history of all history of history.
Bungie will have so much money that thier president and CEO's and security guards drown in a sea of cash. In thier absense all of us will storm Bungie headquarters, with squirt guns modified to shoot plasma bullets by reverse engineering the Covenant blueprints at Bungie.
We will kill all who doesn't comply. Then, all the employees in the other game manufaturers get laid off, so we hire them to build a gaint destruction robot 2000 thing, using it we will take control of the worlds resources, and any other game makers. later we will invent another giant anti-destruction robot 2000 thing and destroy the destruction robot 200 thing. which will allow us to use its parts to produce all the Halo 2 and Halo sequels we want forever. It is just that simple, guys.

3 or more

Let me quote from Official Xbox Magazine:
"With Halo 2 coming sooner than later (allegedly) and not enough time in between Halo 3 to be an Xbox 2 launch title (apparently)..."

343 Guilty Spark is familiar with the human protocols.

No he's not, seeing as he was surprised to learn of human history when he visits the Pillar of Autumn, which happens AFTER his commentary on the quality of your armor.

I doubt there'll be a Halo 3. There's been at least 8 years of development on Halo related games, I would guess Bungie's ready to move on.

Set your eyes on that. Don't believe me still? Go here. The post is the 18th one (The post was posted at 6/4/04, 7:39 pm)

I think that this series will end at 2 for the most part. From an article in EGM that I read where they interviewed Bungie staff, it seems that not only will the chief be encountering the flood, maybe finishing destroying that threat, I also read in the article one of the employees saying that somewhere near the end of Halo 2 the chief was going to attack the covenant homeworld... there are only 2 ways I can see something like that ending.

1. The covenant leadership is destroyed, leaving the old racial hatreds of the assorted races of the covenant to resurface and cause them to forget humans ever existed, or maybe even sign a treaty of some sort with them, if not a surrender.
2. The master chief gets his butt kicked and covenant continue on in another attack on earth, finally destroying the planet and destroying the human race.

The first choice is what i think, if not something like that happening, something very simlilar, I would hate to think that Bungie would start pumping out Halo's like marios or something like that. That would diminish the overall quality of the games in my opinion. It just doesn't seem like a series that you could do that with. Continually discovering new races to fight? That just seems a bit too much like scooby doo pilin into the mystery machine for another lame trip where they just "happen" to run into an alien race that wants them dead. If that happened to the Halo series I would be severely disapointed. The thought of running into the flood again is somewhat good, but, fighting against the flood alone for 3-4 games? After the Master Chief finishes with the covenant in Halo 2, I doubt they will be much of a threat. I suppose maybe the elites might form up some kind of league. Im guessing when they referred to going to the covenant homeworld, they meant the homeworld of the Prophets, the spiritual and political leader of the covenant. Without them guiding things around it is doubtful that the covenant will be much of a threat in any new Halo's past Halo 2, because it will probably end with the MC blowing up their planet or somethin like that.

Whew, I think i typed a little more on this subject than I meant to when I started, and it probably actually belongs in Halo 2 predictions, but there is my opinion

It could be anything really, even if we kick the Covi's butt, we still have Sparky, the Flood, and who knows whatelse to deal with out there. But historically most of Bungie's titles are written story wise for 3 games, the Marathons, the Myths (ok, the 3rd was passed out to a 3rd party but the plot was the same) etc. Marathon tried a 4th but it ended more as a freeby so there could be a 4th. More than likely it looks like 3 though, which looking at current form would seem a touch maybe too soon :( Heres to hoping of maybe 3 FPS, then a whole raft of spin offs into RTS, RPGs, and MMOGs maybe also :)
