As long as the XBOX only packs a 128-bit graphics core and 64mb of memory, it is not possible for ANYTHING to be revolutionary about this game. I'm sorry but this technology is OLD news. The power to produce state-of-the-art
games simply is not in the Xbox's hardware; not to mention the horrific resolutions.

BOTTOM LINE: The Xbox's hardware limits any and ALL Xbox games released to "Generic Status"

NOTE: I still bought the game, though ;-)

because the xbox is a console, all of its resources are concentrating one thing... the game, where as a PC has alot going on in the background. Therefore you get just asmuch as a pretty decent computer, even though the xbox is 500 and something mhz.

You obviously know nothing about games.

Now, let's say, that the Xbox was indeed ancient, and had horrible hardware. Even then, does less then perfect graphics and speed define a game? No. Look at Marathon. Compared to today's standards, the graphics blow ass, however, it is still considered to be one of the best, if not THE best, first person shooter out there.

PS - The Xbox is just as good as your average PC, concerning playing games. It's a helluva lot cheaper, but because it's a dedicated system, it's just as good as the average new PC out there.

And why would you bother to buy the game, come to the website, register, and post in the Bungie forums if it's just a "generic" game?

Who said anything about being revolutionary technologically? I think Stickman pretty much covered it.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Yeah people care too much about graphics....I don't give a crap what it looks like, as long as it's fun.

Graphics really can make a game better. I couldn't possibly imagine playing an 8-bit Halo, and I can't imagine Doom 3 being fun for any length of time if it didn't have those amazing graphics. Visuals can make a huge difference in a game, but reusing old technology where appropriate isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Of course graphic make a game better, but people seem to focus on the graphics way to much, and are willing to sacrafice gameplay for eye-candy.

Well, yeah. Graphics are very important, but can't save a game. That kind of goes without saying.

I think you've got some problems buddy. Halo 2 has some of the best graphics any videogame has in the world, it is incredibly detailed. If you want better graphics go buy yourself a $4000 alienware area-51 gaming PC but you will find that there are very few games that rival Halo 2 in graphics area. Half-Life2 and Doom3 both rival Halo 2 with graphics but they have plenty of their own problems that are worse then the pop-in issues in the halo2 cutscnes.

If all you care about is graphics then you must not care about the revolutionary AI that controls the enemies and allies in Halo2. Did you beat the game on easy then toss it in "the corner of old games?" The story is excellent until you get half way through the game where they had to cut back in everything.

Probably the biggest reason that Halo2 can look and play better than any other game out there is because they have 67 people working on it. Thats a lot more then the 30 people teams working on Half-Life2 or Doom3 and I'm guessing you haven't played on X-box live either. Would I be right in assuming that?

This won't even be an issue in a couple of years. The consoles are getting more powerful each generation along with mainstream gaming growing as it is. Nobody wants to buy a 200 dollar graphics card every time a new game comes out. It was fine in the past but now gaming is so much more than it was a couple of years ago. The money is in consoles. We all should know by now that industry always follows money.

If you can compare a Xbox to even a "average" computer, you are stupid. Console games have to be serverly limited when developed to make sure it can run a feasible frames on a console. PC games on the other hand, take advantage of the new and better hardware on a PC, so the only things limiting it is the designers ability.

Halo 2 graphics are amazing for a console, but your a crazy to think it looks better then doom 3 or haliflife 2. You don't have to spend 4000 + on a computer to play them at high quality either I spent 1500 on mine.I did build mine though so that brought down the price. Amd athlon 64 3700+, ASUS k8v SE DELUXE 1 gig pc3200, raptor 73 gig hd, Ati x800 xt platinum, I could keep going cause I cramed my pc full of crap. I run doom 3 at 1280 x 1024 on ultra quality with everything turned at a solid 60fps with only a few hiccups in performance.

Now for the future of consoles, what you all have noticed is that game systems can pump out amazing games with about 1/4 the power it takes for a pc to run the same game.
Now why is that? well first of all the pc isn't designed to play video games and there are a lot of things that a pc has to do while your playing video games. Secondly when they design a game for a console its all on the same platform there is no different graphic cards for the xbox, which means they can squezze every little bit of power out of the system. thats why you so much power to run a game on a pc.

HALO 2 IS REVOLUTIONARY for console graphics, online play, and many other things.

Not to mention you have to sign up for xbox live play so if you cheat they just ban you :)
Go play counter-strike and you will appreciate the xboxlive service.

INcizor Doom 3 and Half-life 2 run circle around halo's graphics even with a 9800 pro or 9800 xt platinum card.

It's not really fair to compare a console game to a PC game.

This is what Doom 3 looks like on my shoddy GeForceFX 5200 (Warning:Lots and lots of gore)/

Xbox isn't even capable of that. No console is yet. So to say Halo 2, which has the best graphics I've ever seen on a console by far, is not revolutionary technologically is like saying the Dreamcast didn't have better graphics than the Playstation 1.
