It is distorted, and it skips, especially in cut scenes. I tried reinstalling Halo, and I also reinstalled my sound card stuff on the CD, and I made sure my drivers were updated. I don't know what to do. It used to work before, but than I don't know what happened. I have a Sound Blaster Live! Series card with 5.1 support, though I have a 2.1 setup.
HELP! THX!

it sounds like your sound card is too slow (yes they have a processor in them) to play everything correctly. i would put the sound quality on low and the variety on low, and make sure hardware sound acceleration is off. if that doesnt work, you should probaby get a new one

try upgrading your drivers...I had one of these they were fine unless you turn on the hardware acceleration and EAX feature, Im positive that If you turn these two options off your game will play fine...but if you want the kick ass sound go and get atleast a Sound Blaster Audigy and turn on everything on the sound menu to its highest. YAY awsome sound, and you can here fricken rockets whiz past behind you!!! hehe and also hear shotgun shells click on the floor hehehehehe.....awsome.. but youll need a good pair of 5.1 surround speakers.

heres a link to a good site, thier cheap! awsome

THX Logitech Speakers

don't worry becuase thier refurbished, the are very good. I got my speakers from here and they are awsome!

and also go to www.outpost.com they have the sound blaster audigy there for 40 bucks.. its the one I have and it is great quiality for hardcore gamers like me.....

Good Luck!
(dont forget to ground yourself, heheh)

first of all, you NEVER want to install drivers from a CD. well there is one exception... which i'll explain later
instead, go to your sound card makers webpage, find a driver download page, and get them from there.

the one exception to this is, obviously, if you are trying to instal drivers to work an ethernet/wireless internet card

I don't need a new sound card, because it used to work fine. And I have the audio on low with the min settings. It still plays distorted or too fast.
