I would like to see some MORE (sorry that was supposed to be in there in the 1st posting)female marines in Halo 2. Not because I am a nut about woman's rights or anything, but it is different. In the future there will be more female troops fighting in our own army. It is just logical that there would be female marines in Halo 2.

Who is to say that there are not female cov. troops? We really wouldn't be able to tell would we? Do they have breasts?

I would also like to see some variants in character's ages too. Like having a really old marine who is crude, but can still kick some ass!

Foe hammer was female.

  • 04.16.2004 8:33 AM PDT

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Um, there are female covies. Isn't one of them female because thats just the way their society works? At least thats what I thought. And I don't thinnk there will be female marines because Bungie will not want to have female marines screaming in pain. That would be politically incorrect :P
And good point duce about foehammer.

I don't know. Today in the military femals can't fight in battles (for lack of words), but they can do support stuff (for lack of words). But if you read the Halo books you know that some of the Spartan II's were females, but most of the regular marines were'nt females. The most notable females in Halo are probably Kelly, Linda, and Foe Hammer.

But Spartans are different. They are geneteically engineered super soldiers wearing the best armor Earth has to offer. Since they are genetically engineered, a female would probably be about as strong and tough as a guy anyway.

Yeah my mom and dad were in the army (I was born on a military base, guess that's why I'm so good in Halo lol). My mom was in Desert Storm.

True, but Foe Hammer is a regular marine.

No, she's a pilot. All of the women in Halo are pilots. Do you want to know why? Fine I'll tell you.
Robert Heinlein(grandmaster of SF, wrote Starship Troopers and many other books) wrote in his book that in the future, it was discovered that women were better pilots than men, because they had faster reflexes, and better eye hand coordination. This of course is not true, but Heinlein doing this set a precedent, which has been followed by many other SF writers/games.
And yes I am a SF nerd.

I have not yet read the Halo book, but am waiting to get my copy.

I think biatches would look real sexy in tight fitting body armor! With the breast plate and the round ass plates! YEAH!

What do you mean No?? Yeah sure she's a pilot but I'm sure she wore a uniform like everyone else, went throught training like everyone else, and was a marine like everyone else.

But they woudn't realistically have tight fitting body armor, because that wouldn't be very protective. In fact another reason why Bungie wouldn't have female marines in Halo 2 is because the humans would have to manufactur two different trypes of high-tech armor, which is kind of hard to do when Earth is being attacked.

Not necessarily. You could manufacture different chest plates. All the other pieces of armor are pretty much the same. Except that they differ in size. Not all men are the same size so they have to make varying sizes.

If you read Popular Science, then you would see that most of the new body armors are tight fitting. This allows for more mobility. Face it, after a certain point armor will not protect you (ex. The Rocket). This is where mobility is handy. It is better to get out of the way, than take a hit. Besides the MC has a shield. That is what I would incorporate.

If you get a hold of the article you will see that all the new proto-types are thin fitting. This increases a soldier’s mobility. It even changes color to the environment. It changes from light brown for desert, green camo for jungle, and gray camo for urban. They are still developing them, so they won’t be out for a while.

As for the time factor. When ever a country is in a war it goes into this producing stage where things are massed produced and evolved. If it wasn’t for war, then we wouldn’t have most of our Technology. Look at WW II and the V2 rocket.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO any females can string me up if they like but no. Warfare is man's domain. We are brothers in arms not people in arms and this is the way it should be. arm them if u must but i will not trust any women in a combat zone not even Anne Robinson. I have no problem working along side them or with them but as men it's our duty to protect them even if they do say they dont need protecting it is still our duty none the less. What kind of men would we be if we let our women put themselfs into a war situation.

now guys lets not all be sexist. Women did fight like in the books and maybe on halo (but you just didnt see). Women fight in the army now so in the next 500 years there would be a lot more. I say put them in, not so horny players can stare at them instead of completing the objective, but for variety and a unique touch.

PS: speaking of books First strike was goood, that one had Polaski in it (also a pelican pilot) but *****.............................SPOILER WARNING..........................................**** Poor Locklear never got a chance to express his feelings to her after she died, oh well maybe they will see each other in the afterlife :-P lol
