Female marines would not be a bad idea. They would sound different and look different and that's about it. When you think about it, all the marines in Halo are already equal, well, close enough that I see no difference, so having females would be like having another type of marine. And realistically, girls are better at guys in various things, like some girl I know who weighs 110, and is going to try and bench press at least 200 pounds, and she is a vegan, which just goes to show that they can be crazy at times as well.

It would be good for the variety, but I don't think women should (but they could IMO) be included in Halo 2. It 'd be hard to include pretty (they should definately be pretty, just like male characters must be hansom) female marines/spartans that aren't too sexy. (so they don't drag away the attention of the epic battles/ storyline!), so I 'd say that bungie better think about things that improve gameplay rather than political correctness.
But I DO NOT think men should be the only ones fighting for earth, no matter how proud we are, if it's about earth, it is important to everyone.
Oh and remember it's a game... lol people seem so pretend it's really going to happen lol.

Are you saying that the guys in Halo are good looking? I never thought of that, but then again, I don't like dudes!

Some girls are kinda tough. But on the whole, comparing average men to average women (excluding the olympians and other weight training body builders), women are not built like men. Most (I stress MOST) of the physical activities are done better by men. This is the exact reason for separate events in athletics.

However, I would let women fight in a war. In the game and in real life. On one condition.....They have to be drafted along with us men. I am tired of them getting the free ride! They get all the same rights as a man (which they fought very hard for), so they should take on all the responsiblities too!

Let me know what you think. I can' t wait for the response on this one.

I really don't care what Bungie does as long as I don't see a bunch of women crying when they get shot.

"I am tired of them getting the free ride! They get all the same rights as a man (which they fought very hard for), so they should take on all the responsiblities too!"

This was my argument in the fouth grade for hitting a girl, so much talk at that time about equal rights, fine, but equal in all things. While I don't hit girls anymore I still believe it's true. If women want equal rights, which I have no problem with, then they accept equal responsibilities.

As far as the video game I don't see why there couldn't be more female marines in it. With how much evolution there's been in just the last 50 years in women being able to do things men do and what they can do in the army and such, I don't see why they wouldn't be there just as much as men in Halo's timeline. After all it's more than 500 years in the future. The only exception might be if the Covenent kidnapped most our women and are using them for personal entertainment, and that's why we don't see to many in Halo. That's why we go to the Covenent homeworld in Halo 2, to free our women, in level 10 or 11, there will be 100's of women on screen running for freedom.

your right. my mom is an active rights activist and i ask her when has she ever been descriminated against.Response:studder stumble then go to your room. Thats right probably not since 2nd grade. i think women in the game would add more dept and they could say witty things after a kill that would sound kind of -blam!- from a guy

From what I remember, this really isn't on topic and hard to read with so many spelling errors. But, from what I remember women still are not allowed to fight on the front lines for two reasons:
1) They cause conflict amonst the male troops in battle (you can come up with your own examples). This has been tested and studied many times over.
2) Physically (on the average case) women cannot be as strong as men, even when they take testosterone supplements and andrine (Not sure if I spelled that correctly).

This by no means explicitly states that women CANNOT fight or that they should not be on the front lines but just states the reason there is division in the military today. And, as the forum rules state there will be no political discussion so I leave it at that.

Now, back on topic. I would not care or it wouldn't matter to me if more females were added or not. I tend not to fall for 'hot' computer graphics. Exhibit: Lara Croft.
But there were a few females people missed in the book that played a crucial roll. For example, many of the Pillar of Autumns staff was female, and the 2nd in command (her name escapes me at the moment) of the ODSTs was female too. A rather tough female I might add.

That's funny, I could have sworn it the opposite from a biology stand point. Most hunters (ie carnivores) have a partriarchal system (think lions and tigers where there is one dominant male). Humans fit into that category 100,000 years ago.

no, it wouldn't rule at all really. remember, this is HALO not friggin final fantasy. leave the crappy love stories where MC falls for some female spartan in d-cup mark vi armor in the closet, locked. and launch it at the sun.
