Creative is a personality type. Read (or skim) the following article and see how you fit: http://cms.psychologytoday.com/articles/pto-19960701-000033.h tml

Make sure to post where you fall. It's amazing how perfectly i fit under most of the criteria.

My older brother and I (the late Obbi, who was banned recently) fit all of these traits very closely, except for three. I've never seen any person less motivated.

This article does have a problem, though, because since many of these things are positive and put 'creative' people in almost a super-human light, many people will subconsciously say, "I'm like that!" When in reality it's just your subconscious trying to boost you up, similar to jacking off the ego.

That's not to mention that the majority of these traits are rather ambiguous. Rarely will you find people who are one extreme or another - and each of these traits seem to describe a 'mix' of traits, things that most people have.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Obbi got banned? What for?

He didn't say. I know it's a week ban, but I'm not sure why. I don't know where he is at the moment.

Wow...for the most part, I fit this criteria quite well. Number 2 hit home the most for me.

That's crazy.

Now I'm really interested in psychology.

Psychology, on a whole, is kind of boring. Though that article may have been interesting, studying human behavior and the mind is generally depressing at best.

Don't let him dissuade you from learning psychology... it is the most interesting field of study to exist in my belief. It is not, however, for the math/science oriented folks. Psychology is not only intriguing, but immensely useful. You can apply it to every facet of every day life. It's something that you can just pick up by looking deep inside yourself and analyzing others.

But trust me, psychology is extremely interesting.

Psychology is lame. I'm not going to be told that because in this situation I took this irrelevant action and because in this situation I took this other irrelevant action, I'm x kind of person. My mother has a degree in psychology, and apparently nothing she has learned is really true to life.

Psychology is a relatively new field of study. What your mother learned ten to twenty years ago may now be outdated and generally considered untrue.

Psychology can be interesting, but I find it lame because I think of it in a rather pessimistic way. The more you learn about humanity the more you learn how rediculously stupid and hopeless it is. This is where my brother and I are different. He loves watching, understanding and messing with people. I can't stand them.

I can see how it would be interesting to learn how humans are supposed to work. There are a few basic functions that apply to a lot of people, but it's all superficial, pessimistic, and horrible.

Do you mean "inaccurate"?

It's hardly inaccurate. The only part that's inaccurate is the part where humans apply what we've learned to real situations. Psychology is so complex, and psychoanalyzing* extremely complex people makes it seem unreliable.

*no idea how to spell that word

I was referring to the stuff that really can be applied to people on a basic level. That stuff is all depressing, as you said.

Psychoanalyzing was spelled correctly, by the way.

You can't be Marvin until you've talked to the mattress.

Haven't gotten to that part yet. Don't be like my brother and ruin the book for me. I just finished The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

Yeah, I trust you more because I look at it the same way you do. I actually do what you do, too...look deep inside myself and use it to try to analyze others. And I hate math, so that's another good thing...haha.

Also, on the whole, I'm a pretty optimistic person. I try to find the best and most enjoyable/interesting side of things, not the worst.
