Post count. Yet another thing we can't have because of some immature members who'd flaunt it :-/Worse than just flaunting it -- post counts would increase spam as members tried to outdo one another. The unfortunate combination of something that seems like a "score" combined with a website for gamers.
To me, post count doesn't make even the slightest bit of difference in any way whatsoever. It doesn't show how "good" a member you are, how into the games you are, how much you participate in discussions, or even how much time you spend on the site. I have no problem with there being no post counts.
Yet a great many forums with hundreds of thousands of members somehow don't have to worry about such post fests. If there is nothing to post about, people won't post. If they post randomly, they get banned. That is the way it is supposed to work. It may not matter in any way, but it is nice to see some reward, however insignificant, for being a dedicated member. I know nothing more reassuring than seeing my 6,000 post count on h2s.com, or my 300 posts on neowin.net. Its not about having the most, but about being rewarded for your dedication to the community.
This forum is definitely the most alienating to the members, since they have no connection to the community. There is no reward for being a member other than discussing what you can with other members. There is no seniority here, no nothing. Its just a bunch of faceless guys talking.
