Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

No, just play the game on a desktop, much easier to upgrade and such.

I dunno. Look at the back of the box you got with the game.

I had that exact chipset, so i can assure you, it will work. As a matter of fact, your computer is same specs as mine (basically) cept I have a Dell Dimension E520 with a newly upgraded x1650 pro AT video card.

Your computer will run H2V, but you will lag (10-20fps) on the lowest settings and rez. On high settings and high rez, expect "slideshow gameplay" (1-4fps).

You read that right, on max settings, you can have as low as 1 fps.

On my new 100 dollar videocard the ATI Radeon x1650 pro 512MB, I have max settings and max rez with 15-20fps. And on the lowest settings lowest rez 30fps-45fps. The game lags an extraordinary amount compared to any other game I have. Half-Life 2 runs at a steady 32fps.

With your graphics card, expect to see your gameplay heavily affected in online gameplay, however, the campaign is still a lot of fun, with not to much lag in the way. If you can get a dedicated graphics card upgrade, then do so. If you don't have the money, then H2V is still an OK buy. If you were thinking of getting an XBOX or already have one, DO NOT GET HALO 2 VISTA. otherwise, the game is still fun.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

If you think that H2V "lags" then get a better video card. Simple

Halo PC lags for me. Do I need a new video card?

Don't even bother answering. I already know my computer is equivalent to Amish crap.

Keep in mind he's got a laptop, so upgrades, if possible, will be a -blam!-. And the upgrades you suggested are in the impossible category.

Here is a website that will tell you if you can run Halo 2 PC.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srl
Steps:
1) Click on the link
2) Click on Can You Run It?
3) Scroll down in the select product area until you see Halo 2 - PC
4) Click on Can You Run It?
5) You may have to download the driver that checks your computer stats. (It is perfectly harmless I use it)
6) Check out your stats
7) The first page shows how your computer compares with them minimum requirements.
8) To see the recommended requirements scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on recommended requirements.

Hope this can help everyone else who asks this question.
