I think that they should hurry up because Halo 2 will not have the "staying power" that Halo 1 had. They've "broken the seal" as it were, and demand will now be too much for them to merely sustain future customers with downloadable MP content for very long. This is why my theory that Halo 2 and Halo 3 will be very related and close together is I think a good one. I think they have already been working on Halo 3 for some time along with Halo 2, and that Halo 3 will be released as an Xbox Next launch title. Halo CE is its own story, and in my opinion, H2 and 3 are two halves of the sequel.
I think that the main reason Halo 2 at times seems less smooth and has pop-in and stuff is because Halo 3 was being developed as its other half, which will have a similar graphical look to Halo 2, except more effects, enemies, AI, and stuff that is just a pure horsepower issue. The only problem with my theory is that ATI is doing the graphics card for Xbox Next, so I don't know if my thoughts on a shared base engine is a very airtight theory.
