I don't like the idea at all. You pick up the shield, you sacrifice the use of grenades, melee, all of the two handed weapons, you gain an impenitrible shield against all but the raw plasma projectile weapons, because as far as we know everything else bounces right off it, and because MuliPlayer characters don't react or have the same stun animations as AI in campaigne mode you can't be thrown off balance by melee attacks, or buckshot from the shotgun. Sounds particularly broken to me.
It's kinda like god mode, all you have to do is look at your enemy and 90% of the time he can't hurt you. If you had a plasma sword to back it, no one would come near you to try to duke it out. infact the only way you're gonna lose a fight is if someone hits you with two fully charged plasma shots and that's not an easy task unless you're close range. And a rocket splash damage won't even make a mark on your health bar with 200% shields in halo:CE. so if you have the bare ammount of reaction it takes to jump or side step a rocket you'd be pretty over powered defensively.
Heyy i got an idea... Why not just make a power up that tripples the strength of your shield and degrades over time... They could put that in the game! that would rock!.
