Cam is taking a break that is all. He has not stepped down. So at anytime he can pop in and still lay down some law. I do not think it is as much a shortage as it is we are a bit busy right now with other things going on in our lives. The real deal though to help making it a bit better is to report infractions to us. That way we get to it quicker and we can get rid of the problem children faster. Once members start doing this you will see a huge change in the way things are around here. I just wish I had enough eyes and time to catch it all myself but I don't. :(I think it would be helpful if, on their MSN profiles, moderators were to put a little message up that says something along the lines of "Moderating" or "Bungie.net." That would let members know ahead of time that a particular mod is online and available to moderate.
It has happened more than once that I've heard moderators and Bungie folks complain about people just sending them random links when they are busy doing something else. I also know how distracting it can be when I'm doing something else to get random messages -- and away messages don't discourage some people. So unless I'm sure that a mod is free and available, I don't bother them with links to bad threads. Recon and a few others are pretty good about putting up a "(Working)" message to indicate that they're not completely available to follow links to bad threads at that particular time. I think that something the opposite way (like a "Moderating" message) might help to encourage people to report threads more often.
Obviously, MSN is a personal thing, and mods shouldn't be required to do anything with their profiles, but it's just food for thought.
