Time has come to pick some new mods, the old ones could probaly use a break anyway, most of them are like 25 and up, probaly have ton of things to do.

Your right except for a few of them, and there is no number large enough to show the actual age of Recon. So I just call him "Old" now.

And I don't think it's that moderators aren't here anymore, I just think there a little busy, trying to get good at playing Halo.

You could say that, sort of. Not exactly. Maybe. Probably not. But perhaps, just not in the way you expect.

Maybe Achronos is working on getting some more mods.

He is making an A.I.!! Everyone run to the hills!!
Wait. Did you just say something about... cake?

Well, I'm genuinely scared.

This is the high tide of the flood of activity. No matter how many moderators Bungie has at this time, there are a lot of new members and there are more posts. Things will eventually calm down, and I am sure many of the mods are spending time playing Halo 3.

We've had discussions with George Lucas. We're going to redigitize him and put in all of the parts that we wanted to but couldn't the first time around.

What could possibly go wrong? Meesa thinks no ting.

I hope to God you're not thinking of Soul out again. Please, did we not learn anything from the last time?!

Forgive me if I begin construction on my self-supporting, underground bunker. Anyone know of any good defense contractors?

Most of them don't even play Halo.

Maybe now that Reflux is done being a lame attempt at another I luv bees campaign, he can do some moderating.

I just hope Walt Disney isn't thawed out from his frozen cryotube and brought here. He'd ban people left and right.

...wait....is that such a bad thing?

It's a riddle! The initials spell "UPC"! Are we all going to get barcodes tatooed onto the back of our heads?! Could this be Bungie's first stage in the process of taking over the world?!

Yes. Boiling water.

I am a Floodian

I heard that throwing lemon juice and hitting it with tongs also works.

OT: I don't know if there is as much moderating going on. However, it may only seem like this because of some moderators stepping down/taking a break right now, those mods both being extremely active. Also the activity is extremely high so it has been making it harder on the mods. It will most likely get better.

Also remember that all three Australian mods (Pezza, Trigger and myself) are going through the final year of high school and our respective final school exams, so we should (ethically) not be on as much.

It's just a phase that we go through where more moderators than usual are busy (and it just so happens to be during a busy period for the site). It passes.

I'd really kill to see how many posts are made through out the day, note the news... one million members! That's a lot of people posting, interacting and generally saying things that their own mother would slap them for.

I've been at this since Bungie.net relaunched and before that at Chapter Founders. Sometimes I need to step away before I stay up banning everyone and just sleep for a week when they all return...

You still commanded a lot of respect when you were pwning noobs last week, though. Tons of locked threads and banned users.

No army ever attacks in a single force. In the same way that military forces fight with waves, so must the Bungie.net mods.A single, "cleansing" push through the forums would result in so much collateral damage, it woudln't even have been worth the effort.

Our problems must be corrected methodolically, and with surgical precision. Well, on second thought, an unorthodox mauling every now and then couldn't hurt, could it?

But the military also has doesn't attack without a 3:1 advantage. If there isn't one, you break contact.

*Wonders what b.net would be like*

3:1 here is overkill. Psychological health aside, no moderator's life is at risk.

  • 10.21.2007 12:23 PM PDT

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Use a Hammer and hit it's weakpoint for massive damage.

Which equates to delicious crab meat.

I think there are alot of people who would love to help "Janitor" the site, but it's just not the way B.net is run. There was a time when I wouldn't have minded to pick up after the kids in the Halo 3 forum, but now I'm old and tired :D. Too much Drama that way anyhoo.

Of course the real problem is quite simple: Life catches up. Cid and the Australian mods are busy with school, other mods have left, some just don't have the same "Guilty Spark" that they used to, and for others things just change. But that doesn't mean Recon 54 won't be here for another half a century as some kind of crazy Cyborg/Mainframe hybrid to interface with Bungie's latest game AND moderate at the same time.
