Exalted is considered "the highest" because you can't get any bans or warnings of any kind for quite a long time, which is harder than just being a member for a long time.

Great...

Wait, what?

<audiophile>I wish i had my hands on that software. I do love the musical production, and noticed some of the small differences in the sound from Halo 2. Sound design for games is a very interesting field... kinda cool to get a look at how it's done for this particular game. </audiophile>

Just last night, I was in forge, and I paused the video where a player had dual SMGs blazing.

Sweet, I don't know anything about audio but I still eat this kind of stuff up. Any chance we can have something like this for HDR lighting and what goes into creating that?

I wonder if there is a Teabaging Medal?

If there were, it would be called "TESTOCULAR!"

The audio is amazing...but why are you advertising for them, Bungie?

That's nice and all lukems. But when are you guys going to start to work with something which will pull yourself more into the gameplay. For instance you could start fiddling around with some spatial hearing techniques dependent on binaural characteristics or holfonia slash holographic sound. It would make a world of difference in the gaming experience.

I've i've noticed this quite a lot actually. Its really, really good.

There are still issues though. Just a few days ago, a grenade exploding in one of the hallways on the Ark, where a brute had just opened a door, still sounded like the door was closed.

THAT was kinda messed up. But the rest of the game is great.

The sound design in the Halo games has always been great - the music, the ambient, and the effects. Even though Halo 3 raised the bar in many ways, it does have one major flaw... The volume levels are the same for almost everything. The wepons fire is the same volume as most of the ambient sound effects, and the Marine chatter. Even the volume of the bullets hitting the watter is the same as the weapon firing. It's as if it has all been over balanced. The weapons and explosions should be the loudest sounds in the game, and this is not the case. As a result, the weapons you're using in the game feel like they were made by Mattel. The game has lost a certain visceral feel most 1st person shooters have. I'm surprised Bungie let this go - given how Bungie is known for their attention to detail.

Great examples. I also love the QuickTime movie being hosted by Microsoft. :)

I still stand by my assertion that Halo 3 has used audio better than any game to date. Marty has outdone himself...and may now have my lovechild.

That is the ONLY qualm I have with the audio in the game, its really hard to hear what the grunts and other enemies/teammates are saying. It would be nice if there were 3 different volume controls:
1. Music
2. BG Sound(Weapons and such)
3.Speech to make it easier to hear what funny sheet is being said.

How can I install this? Because my audio sounds nothing like the "after" video when comparing the 2. Explosions are flat with no bass and no feel.
