A friend of mine just sent me this link which is on the microsoft website.
Its a speech / interview of Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft Corporation. This was made more than an year ago.
Search on the page for halo(Ctrl + F or Edit >> Find) and you wil see that he says
"We'll show you a capability inside the Office System today that delivers on what we call Information Rights Management. We're working on the next version -- I hate to tell you this confidentially but I'll have to swear you to secrecy now -- we're working on the next version of Xbox right now and we're working on Halo 2 and Halo 3, the two newest versions of the game."

As said by frankie in his "Weekly whats update" , halo 3 is not bungie's current project ... so what does the above signify then ... ???

Steve Ballmer screwed up. He has no idea what he's talking about, and it was confirmed to be a mistake.

Its a slip-up. I wish you people would realise that. Halo3 is not bungie's next project. Confirmed, proved, and official. That guy doesn't have a clue, so don't listen. Jeez. I wish you people would let it die already...

How can you come to the assumption that Bungie is lieing that it was a mistake so quickly? Steve Ballmer isn't making the game. Jason Jones and his staff are. I'm going to trust the latter over the former.

Ach! Was ist los?

Did you know that almost everything Ballmer says is retracted by Microsoft within two hours? He's totally out of the loop.

The most recent case was when he said that Microsoft would start suing anyone who used Linux.

And here's Ballmer on iPods.

--Sgt. Smith demands to know when was the last time Ballmer actually wrote some code.
