This is mostly for people who use a low sensetivity in multiplayer such as me (I hope im not the only one). Have you ever had someone behind you shooting you in the back, and havent been able to turn around fast enough to get a shot off.

What if there was a button to shoot over your shoulder directly behind you. I know the obvious answer to the problem is to turn up your sensetivity, but for people who like the sensetivity they are using now, or people who are just afraid of change.
Obviously this would be very effective with a pistol or sniple rifle where you have to be reasonably accurate, it could be used with the shotgun, or to toss a frag grenade over your should whilst fleeing somebody.

Just thought it could be a usefull idea.

Sounds like more of a hassle then being any good. I mean I know what you're talking about. I shoot people and laugh at how ridiculously slow they turn around. But shooting behind yourself would look kind of funny. Also if you had the time to turn around you'd have more of a chance to kill the guy then waste time shooting over your shoulder. It's a good suggestion none the less.

Escape will make me God.

I liked the controls for Marathon. You could turn 90 degrees, then hit a look key to instantly turn another 90 degrees to the left or right. It was quite handy, but tricky to use perfectly.

I suggest just turning up your sensitivity. I usually play with anywhere from 7-10. It's just so crucial when you are in a melee battle. Admittedly, it does make sniping more difficult.. it's certainly a trade-off.

I suppose your right, and it would be hard getting it to look good not just some big green guy sticking a gun over his shoulder. Maybe if they forget about the guns, but i still think throwing a frag grenade behind you without turning around would be usefull.
You could always just throw one at your feet, but if done wrongly it can blow up sooner thn you'd want and damage you.

Get good at banking frags off the walls to fall behind you. But that point is kind of moot on wide-open terrain.

An option to drop a frag at your feet instead of tossing it forward would be great. I dont know how many times I've been running away, say, in Longest (I know, bad example because of the walls, but you get the idea) and I've needed to drop a nade at my feet.

I'm assuming you guys haven't played counterstrike? That game (as well as RTCW to some extent) has solved the problem by incorporating a quick turn. You click in the stick as you are turning and your turn speed ramps up by about 3x as fast. That allows you to snap around quickly, but still retain your precision. The only thing I'd add to the way that CS uses it is to allow users to also customize their quick turn speed. I use a medium sensitivity, but it would be nice to the same quick turn speed as the very high sensitivity.

Regardless, it works almost perfectly, and when you get good with it, the controller works as an extension of you.

Yeah, I know about bouncing frags of walls, after playing chiron alot i have learnt to aim my frags at corners or walls like you said. But think about it, why have you learnt to bounce frags of walls, because you where never given the option to drop them at your feet. Maybe if this option was given we wuld have never bothered bouncing them of walls. And like you said there's always the lack of walls in maps such as blood gulch and sidewinder.

No, Bungie already has their work cut out for them trying to add all the new features onto the X-Box controller.
