Alright all of you take this way too fricking serious. I mean seriously its something most of us will never know except for the glassy eyed people who have been glued to a computer since the origins of bungie and have way too much time on there hands. Inside jokes were meant to be kept inside...

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what you were referring to as a perfect number. In mathamtics a perfect number is one where all of its factors multiplied=all the factors added i think. I'm not sure but 6 is a perfect number. Maybe bungie choose seven because somebody had been reading revelations too late at night.
i'm just looking through the bible (i'm not a bible nut, my mom picked one up at a used book sale) and i notice alot of references to seven. I might go through and post the references if i'm bored later.

AlphaAndOmega: Seven isn't a perfect number in the mathematical sense, where all the factors added together are equal to the number. Seven represents perfection in the Bible and other ancient texts. Read the Book or Revelation in the Bible. It's really confusing and makes little sense but is full of numeric symbols.

ok heres my list of seven references in revelations
7 churches in the province of asia, revelation given on the lords (7th) day, 7 standing lamps of gold, jesus holds 7 stars in his right hand, 7 torches, 7 spirits of god, angel with 7 seals, the breaking of the first 6 seals by a lamb that represents jesus brought bad stuff on the earth, the 7th seal brought half an hour of silence, 7 angels each with a trumpet, in between the 2nd woe (brought by the 6th trumpet) an angel came down and spoke to john but seven thunders made it so he couldn't hear. the 7th angel laid open gods temple in heaven and then the covenant was seen. a woman with twelve stars on her head gave birht to a dragon w/ 7 horns, satan had 7 horns (he was the dragon) and the beast (representing rome) had 7 heads representing the 7 hills of rome. then 7 angels pour out gods wrath in the form of 7 plauges destroying the kingdom of the beast. Then i got bored with everything and quit.

Please nobody read all this. it's kinda stupid. I am no bible nut just the bible my parental unti picked up had stuff explainging all the symbolism in it.

Anyhow, has anyone noticed there are seven different 'templates' so-to-speak in HALO?

"Pillar of Autumn"/"TheMaw"
"HALO"
Truth and Reconciliation"/"Keyes"
"The Silent Cartographer"
"Assault on the Control Room"/"Two Betreyals"
"343 Guilty Spark" (By the way, ahs anyone contemplated the meaning of his name? "Guilty" is one heck of a 'first name,' and what was the whole "Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?" That line of dialogue has bothered me for a long time.)
and last, but not least, the much hated "The Library".

lets see, i was born 7th of september 1987, coincidentally the same date at Elizabeth 1st, probably britain's greatest monarch.

does that make me special?

and to quote myself
"Everything is simple."
You can overthink it all you want, but it comes down to. Bungie likes the number 7, for whatever reason. They use the # 7, it might be because when they were all little their allowance was $7 dollars, it might be because its the perfect number, or might be because (20 + 18 - 14 - 3) 3 divided by 9 = 7. But the answer will alway be its 7 for whatever reason.

he is right.... have any of you herd of achims razor..... the simpler anwser is usaly the correct one.

i think that it is because 7 letters spell seven and seven in 1337 5P34K is 53V3N, now assuming that we use the "V" as the 22nd letter and the "N" as the 14th letter 5+3-22+3-14=-25 and EVERYONE knows that -25 out of 1 dollar is 75 cents. and honetly, who has 3 quarters? I know for a fact i dont. so bungie realizes this and decided that 7 is a great # to use over and over again

i hope that i have cleared up any confusion!!

Maybe I just have paranoia, but…. I somehow think that some of these posters are starting to troll. Just trying to get a rise out of the older folks, or something.

All well. We’ve shown them the path, they have to take it. Or rather, eat it, as we have learned.

“Cross over the cell bars, find a new maze, make the maze from it's path, find the cell bars, cross over the bars, find a maze, make the maze from its path, eat the food, eat the path.”

OK, I just had a few people PM me with questions like “OMG WTF its 2 long I need teh simpol anser LOL.” I honestly don’t know why these people (I won’t give names) are bringing it up with me personally, so I’ll just give ‘em my answer here:

What, you think I hold all knowledge and tru7h about everything bungie? You think I got some sort of secret knowledge, I’m just to letting you in on it? Believe me, this is everything I know.

The only advantage any of the older people hold over you is that they have been doing this stuff for nearly TEN YEARS. Other that that, you have absolutely the same capacity to learn all of the cool amazing things that have been part of bungie for years. If you really want to learn, and I mean really honest-to-god want to, all you have to do is visit some of the various kick ass bungie community sites scattered around, and spend some time reading. That’s it.
