Congratulations! Youve all finally done it, you seem to have killed off the old guys and the few learned amongst you with your newbie-ism and ignorance.

Now to see how long it takes you to ignore this post and go on with your discussion.

Naw, it's ok. The old dudes did this exact same thing in ye olden times, this discussion is just a little more..... simplified..... to put it nicely. Let 'em reach their own conclusions. It does look like they're starting to get the hang of it though, a few people actually researching things before they post, instead of just making stuff up or just saying whatever off the top of their heads. I applaud that, and I advise you that are doing so to continue.

In a way, this thread is kinda sad. It illustrates a bit of a rift between the newcomers and the veterans. I wouldn’t go so far as to say a split in the community, buy you can tell its there. I don’t like that.

Anyway, if any of you newcomers would like to continue this conversation elsewhere, feel free to PM me.

“Eat the path.”

Edit: Jesus that post sounded really snotty. Sounded like I think I'm God or something. Just wanted to let new people know that that’s not the case. The older folks are still learning just as much as the next guy, and there is still much to learn. It's just that idiots like myself have wasted a great deal of our time talking about these things in depth, so in that case yes, we do "know what the hell we're talking about." Anyway, it sounds like I’m droning no here, so I’ll shut up. Continue your discussion.

Uhh, for some reason this is being all screwy with editing my post. I can't see it, and I don't know if y'all can either. Sorry if this is a double post, but honest to god it does not look like it logged my edit. So anyway here is what I intended to say:

@ lysergicide
Thanks for the support ;-)

Im curious what Shishka edited out of those previous posts...?
.... in this thread? I didn’t notice any of my posts edited out here. If you’re talking about the one in the septagon, it's just that I said something that I shouldn’t have, and thus is was deleted.

Edit: Oh, I see what you’re talking about. That was just some dude badmouthing people. It's of no concern.

aight, if we had lives halo 2 wouldn't be coming out anytime soon... Tho' 143 days is a long ways off... Still, we are all hyped up about it... And to keep hyped and keep interest we must talk about seemingly pointless things such as the number 7... Really it is deep and mysterious, and we will never hear about it from an official BUNGIE person

Did any of you ever think that the reason Bungie likes 7 so much is because...................................................... ...............................They wanted you to waste time trying to figure out why they like it!!@#$%^&*()

I've already tried to put my two cents in on why Bungie uses 7even so much, but ppl just starting flaming me so instead i'm gonna let you go to Hamish's site and see that this is not a new phenonmon: Bungie's been using seven and ppl have been trying to document and analyze its overuse of Seven virtually since the beginning. Might I add that Minatuar was a Network only game, and you could have a maximum of 7 players? I'll stop.

Go here to see the number Seven documented and disected from Marathon. This dates back to '94 and '95.

Open your eyes and enjoy the nuggets of thought bungie has given you to look at and ponder.

-John 117,
-The height of the Roman Empire occured 117 A.D.
-A terminal in Marathon has the number 117 in a reference
to Roman times.
-778 A.D.- Charlemagne attempts to invade Spain, on the return
trip his rear guard is attacked, and Roland is killed. For those
who don't know, Roland carried the sword Durandal. If you're
still clueless, again, go to the Marathon Story Page. (778 is close
to 777, no?) It's notable that Roland was killed by the Basque
people, because there is a map on an "Eat the Path" Terminal
that seems to convey this.

There are many many many more.
Hopefully someone will read these posts and research more.
EDIT: 117 * 7= 819
Hats off to 819 anyone?
