Look at the legendary cut scene, Look where the light originates from, Then look at that picture.
You are looking at an early mars, From the game marathon, With the sun eclipsing Luna, Which creates the big flash of light.
I know someone will read your post and state for the thousandth time that Bungie has stated that Halo and Marathon are in no way related blah blah blah... BUT, how is this Mars? From what I know, Marathon was like, a couple hundred years later than Halo's timeline... Also, how could this planet be Mars when the Ark is so close by, and not to mention Earth being right down the road...I don't think humans ignored something like the Ark if it was so close by ya know? Also, if that flash is indeed a sun, it is blue, and much hotter than our sun...
I think though that I may have misunderstood what you were trying to get across so...I will wait for your response hehe :-)
He's right. The Ark is located outside of the galactic disk/halo in order to be out of the effective range of the Halo's should they all be fired. And with the blue sun thing, its just not possible for it to be the same star. A star either starts out as a blue star or a yellow one.... it cannot go from yellow to blue, as that would be a huge increase in the temperature of the star, and would shorten it's lifetime considerably. Also, because of the higher temperature, the earth, in order to maintain a livable atmosphere would have to be much farther away from the star to achieve the correct temperatures. Because of the increased distance, eclipses wouldn't be the same as we see today, because the ratio of size-distance would be skewed.
