Okay guys, i have no clue if this was mentioned here before, but something came to my mind:
You guys discussed, if there is the possibility to do "time travel" in the official "Halo" Universe.
There have been some people that say, that this is unlikley. But, i can say, it is not unlikley, it is PROVEN, that it is possible:
Nicole, codenamed SPARTAN-458, is a fictional character from Team Ninja's 2005 fighting game Dead or Alive 4. Originating from the Halo fictional universe, she is a result of collaboration between the game's developers and Bungie Studios, the developer of the Halo series. After Team Ninja asked Bungie to use the protagonist of Halo, the Master Chief, in their game, Nicole was created instead to avoid storyline conflicts. Her appearance in pre-release promotional previews of Dead or Alive 4 raised interest in the game's development.
Nicole is portrayed as a twenty-sixth century human female from Mars who was kidnapped by the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and placed into the SPARTAN-II Project, and who eventually becomes a Petty Officer Second Class. Her presence in the Dead or Alive universe is explained as an accident involving the space-time continuum that has transported her to the twenty-first century.
Nicole is the result of collaboration between Tecmo's Team Ninja and Microsoft's Bungie Studios. Team Ninja originally asked Bungie for permission to use the Master Chief, which proved impossible due to storyline restrictions. But the staff at Bungie were intrigued with the idea and wanted to try something similar. As a result, Bungie developed the concept of a Spartan not entirely connected to the Halo storyline who could conveniently and somewhat plausibly be fit into the Dead or Alive universe. This concept evolved into the character of Nicole.
Bungie explained Nicole's presence in the Dead or Alive setting of the twenty-first century in an article that revealed the character's background. The studio stated that the character, who has never appeared in any other Halo fiction, is sent to the twenty-first century when a partially stable "bubble" in the space-time continuum opens near Nassaru Station, where she and her unit are preparing for a secret mission. This "bubble" is created when Apocalypso, an ONI stealth vehicle, interacts with real-space, as a result of an unusual slipspace incident.

Okay, you still can´t believe this?
What about the official Bungie website? Yes, i mean THIS website!
Nicole was born in the year 2531 in the city of New Legaspi on Mars. At six years of age she was abducted by agents of the Office of Naval Intelligence and conscripted into the Spartan II program. The Spartan II program was the UNSC's highly successful military project to augment and hone perfect soldiers.
SPARTAN-458's unit was preparing for a classified mission on Nassau Station when the ONI stealth ship Apocalypso tumbled into real-space – being carried along in the wake of a freak slipspace anomaly. The anomaly intersected Nassau Station; creating a semi-stable "bubble" in the space/time continuum on its way back to the 21st Century.
For the time being Nicole-458 is trapped in the 21st century; guarding Nassau Station's secrets with all but lethal force (she realizes killing someone in the past could have dire consequences), waiting for the "bubble" to collapse and hopefully returning her to the year 2552.

So, thats it. I DON´t prefer any theory where the MC is right now.
But the speculations, if there CAN be time travel in the Halo Universe are over. There IS the possibility of time travel in case of a "slipspace accident"!
This does NOT however proof, that there is the possibility to go to another "universe", but proof for time travel.
BUT you have to keep one thing in mind:
IF this was only time travel and NOT travel to a parallel universe or something, THEN this would mean that tha HALO universe and the Dead or Alive Universe are the same universe!
So if you don´t like this idea, you have to say, that Nicole did not (only) do time travel via slipspace, but travel to a parallel universe too. However thats not proven.
But at least time travel IS proven!
