so, at the end of H3, the dawn is going into the portal as it collapses, cutting the ship in half. arbiters half goes through, chiefs does not, so he goes to bed, now floating around space, starting near the arc, he is outside our galaxy and therefor in 'deep space' (deep space being the void between galaxys). In deep space there are stars here, planetoids there, but nothing close to a solar system untill you get near another galaxy. if you read the book 'ghosts of onyx' at the end of that the remaining spartan II's and spartan III's have traveld through a forerunner slipspace portal to a new 'world'. this new wold was on the inside of a sphere at the center of which was a sun, about as far away (theoreticly) as the sun is from earth, now the questions rise...
1. is this sphere built inside slipspace or real space, if its in slipspace it is perfectly plausible that it will never be found and they stuck there untill they find a way out. or. is it built in deep space out of sight out of mind, and also near impossible to find. i hope you can all apreciate objects apper small the further away they are, so, what if the chief's probability deffying luck lands him on a collison cours with the object in deep space and that is what the 'planet' he is moving towards is, the reason it looks like a planet is its still a long way away...
2. if he is somehow transported to the marathon universe, and has been floating in space from a couple hundred years, like your 'theory' sudgests then ill wait for the next game with the master cheif in it, but then again i remember bungie saying his story arc was over...
