It's cherry, tastes like strawberry, looks like watermelon, and you think it's raspberry just because.
Please don't call me stupid, I just don't get this at all. I have several questions to ask. First of all, what would be the point of linking the two storylines? This would cause massive problems with the two game's storylines. How would Master Chief have been teleported to an alternate universe, all he did was go into Slipspace, and have the portal close on him while he was still in Slipspace. And why would Marathon be in a different universe, they take place in the same universe, it's just that Marathon took place, once again, 200 years in the future. Also, what does the COM box have to do with anything? So they look the same, so what?
In response to the whole mars thing, wtf? Why would mars have all the Forerunner symbols on it. Mars is really close to Earth, and since they already knew about Forerunners and all that, they would have already recognized them before 200 years was up. Also, if Mars was colonized, wouldn't they have seen the ship from some orbital defence grid or something? And why would the star by Mars be blue?
Marathon takes place outside of our solar system, right? So why would Master Chief be floating past Mars if they were trying to link the two storylines?
Also, MIKEFLOUNDERS's post made almost no sense at all. 50,000x2.5 does not equal 150,000, but 125,000. And where does he get all of the measurements from of how far the SMC is from our galaxy, and how far Master Chief is from the SMC?
I have a theory on where Master Chief is, and it is as follows: According to Joseph Staten in an interview by IGN, seen here, Master Chief is stuck in Slipspace. If you remember, in the end of Ghosts of Onyx, not only did the planet aslpode, but the remaining Spartan IIs and IIIs, along with Dr. Halsey, went through the portal near to the core of Onyx to the Dyson Sphere located in the Slipspace bubble of compressed dimensionality located in the center of Onyx (before Onyx exploded, of course, all of which the Dyson Sphere felt none of, since it's in Slipspace). I believe that Master Chief has been floating through Slipspace (not for too long, because then all the Spartans and Dr. Halsey would have died of old age), and is now floating by the Dyson Sphere. What that interstellar cloud is, I can't explain. Perhaps it is just an interstellar cloud that somehow got into Slipspace. Maybe I'm wrong, and Master Chief isn't in Slipspace, and the Spartans and Dr. Halsey got the Dyson Sphere out of Slipspace like they were trying to do in the end of the book. Or, maybe I'm completely wrong, and Master Chief has been drifting in space for 200 years, and is being tied in with the Marathon storyline. I sure hope not, but whatever.
If there is anything wrong with my questions (which I'm sure there is), or with my theory, then please tell me!
