Don't believe me?

Well I cant spend forever reading 175 pages so I will just say that if Master Chief shows up in a Marathon game it will still be cool. If he shows up in a epilogue style halo game it will still be cool to finally get closure to all of this. I'm tired of Flood tentacle melee slaps.

No he's not. If you read the book, you'd know that Onyx no longer exists.

All that's left of it is the Micro Dyson Sphere encased in a slipspace bubble of compressed dimensionality. There is no planet, only trillions of pissed of Sentinels guarding the Sphere.

When I die please bury me deep!
Place an MA5 down by my feet!Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear!
Just pack my box with PT gear!
'Cuz one early morning 'bout zero-five!
The ground will rumble, there'll be lightning in the sky!
Don't you worry, don't come undone! It's just my ghost on a PT run!

I smell nobel prize for in depth theory into space time stuff

You first need to finish Halo3 on legendary and then after the credits you'll see a video where Master Chief and Cortana are in a frigate. As soon as that's over, the frigate will be moving toward another planet.

guh your so wrong everyone knows that bungie put that in there because they where to lazy about thinking up something else

Hope you're joking, you do realise that they didn't have to put in a Legendary ending? They could have just left it with John in cryo.

They put that ending in to keep the series open for the next company who is taking over, 343 Industries.

I'm sure at the time of Halo 3's release, Bungie/343/Microsoft already had an idea (if not knew) how they'd continue MC's story, so I doubt Bungie made that ending to just "leave it open"

Nope. 343 didn't even exist back then, Bungie didn't know if Microsoft would want them to create more Halo games and the idea for Halo 4 was chucked around by Bungie for a bit but they decided to make Reach.

They stated that it was just an ending to leave the story open for the next company.

Subject: I have 100% Proof of where master chief is.

First off, i'd just like to say that in regards to the OP's post about which galaxy you were seeing... Most galaxies appear to look like Nebulas in the local group (Virgo Supercluster), only very few supermassive ones like Andromeda, Milky Way and Triangulum - ones that form around supermassive black holes, actually form into the familiar disc/frisbee shape.

In regards to the portal between the Ark and Earth... I would akin it more to a wormhole then a slipspace portal, it's creation method was different and it provided INSTANT transport between Earth and the Ark. The concept of folding space to produce a wormhole would easily explain this, rather then the slipspace approach where you travel faster by existing in subspace/hyperspace where the laws of physics don't apply.

When the chief and the Dawn entered the portal, whether slipspace or wormhole, the direction of energy flow (as dictated by the two ends) was only between the Ark and Earth, so most likely the rear of the dawn was thrown out somewhere along this path to Earth... or remains adrift in the vicinity of the Ark, having not entered the portal at all, and is near a forerunner world that was in the Ark's vicinity... possibly even the forgeworld in the centre of the ark itself considering it would be the only gravitational force near enough to the portal to be able to draw the dawn's rear section towards it.

I believe that it would be likely for the forgeworld to survive, because we're looking at a shaped explosive charge when the halo blew up (it's a frigging ring), so a majority of the explosion would be directed outwards, and if the forgeworld followed suite with most forerunner worlds, chances are it would have been mined hollow on the inside for resources to build Halos, and probably ended up being a shell containing something like a shieldworld or something.

The theory is plausable, but there is one thing that kinda stands out. Bungie said themselves that they would not make another halo game. Now, I take that to mean there won't be another game featuring MC and his adventures. So they won't make a game that arcs the two. I don't know if they care about the few of us that fall under this, but I know that they would lose more than a few Marathon fans if they arced the two storylines.

Also, you do not travel to different universes in infinity. You only travel to the past and do different things to create new universes.

One other thing, if you check here, you can find a lot of concept art for the various pfhor. The pictures you have in the op are, to put it bluntly, pretty bad. Also, if you look for Craig Mullins' pictures, he did insanely good pictures for marathon.

As awesome as it would be to fight pfhor in a new game, I think incorperating MC into it is retarded.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember hearing that the story arc at the end of halo 3 will be continued as the next halo title done by 343 studios.

Also the last weekly update said something about the next bungie game being closer to our time.

nice theory though I read through the whole thing and I think that they could go this way if they wanted to, but I just don't see it happening.

it would just be cool if he landed on reach instead of the whole marathon theory no offense

  • 10.17.2010 4:20 PM PDT

Heroes never die.

i have a counter example master chief is heading into reach why else would bungie make halo reach.

hes going towards reach why else would bungie make halo reach.

  • 10.18.2010 2:07 PM PDT

mc only shows up once in reach. thats in one cutscene you can move the screen around in. look it up on youtube on roosterteeths channel.

Very nice theory OP

Two game universes merging into one, how abstract. Good spot.

I hope that we don't play against the marathon enemies, I'd rather a new set of enemies to kill for Halo 4.

Your own unjustified opinion that makes no sense at all.

this is way better than some of the theorys like the ones involving captain keyes in a half - flood - form helping the chief go to the covenant home world to set of a nuke on the biggest most defended planet.
