Personally, I would try and get something a little better if you can afford it. I used the FX5200 for around six months and, after that time, couldn't do it any more! If you can, try and get something more along the lines of an FX5900XT. You can pick them up at a reasonable price if you look around. As for ATi cards, I'm not really qualified to speak as the only one I've ever had was a Rage Pro 128...that couldn't play Halo...Hope you find something to suit your pocket dude.

(P.S. You not got AGP?...)

Somewhat unfortunate dude... How upto date is the machine? Are you sure you don't have the new graphics standard PCI Express?... Just a thought.

In that case then just go with whatever card is cheaper... I wouldn't see the point in going mad.

Sorry man.

Heyyo,

Lol, I couldn't resis! :)

Ya know my response. :p

Letme break down how easy I can make it to kill ya with the FX5200... I turn on my flashlight, you lose 10F/S off your framerate, you video-lag out, and I whup ya. On the 9200SE? LOL, I don't think I even have to say anything aboot that lam0rz card. The 9200 already sucked, but an SE version? LMAO, I just have to stand there and you lag out! =D

If you can try to get a 9100, it's better than the 9200... infact, if you can, just try to get an old 8500 dude, cheaper, and almost as good as a 9100 (If ya diddn't know already, the 9100 is a 8500 with PS1.4 I think... or is it PS2.0? anywho, not much diff... but preformance wise you'll see the 8500 do better.)

Or you can be smart and buy a better motherboard, store it in your closet until you get a better videocard to use with it.

Here, I'll point out a half decent mobo that's cheap.

SOLTEK 85DR3-R I845PE S478 AGP DDR333 6PCI SATA RAID W/ SOUND MOTHERBOARD:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=9550&vpn=SL-85 DR3-R&man ufacture=SOLTEK

ya know? that's actually a pretty good mobo for that price. And it's cheaper than those crap videocards too. :)

DFI PM12-TL P4M266A S478 MATX 533FSB DDR AGP 3PCI ATA133 VIDEO SOUND LAN MOTHERBOARD:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=11524&vpn=PM12 -TL&manuf acture=DFI

This one's just sad, lol, 3 PCI slots? that's like being in a stray jacket no one wants to be near ya... freak, lol. But hey, intergrated graphics, AND a agp slot? wow.... actually, your gf4 MX440's better than that intergrated graphics bs, lol, get that 1st board if you can, and if not? name some motherboard manufacturers you can get from your local computer stores, and I'll pick you a winner. ;)

So yeah, Digi, you already have a processor, some ram, and a videocard. You're not gonna lose out if you just get a better motherboard for now. And all motherboards these days come with a neat little intergrated soundcard that's actually pretty decent. Sure, halo won't run much better (if any) but at least it'll allow you to have a MUCH better Halo gaming experience in the future when you get a good videocard, cause the clan's starting to move towards HL2, and that game's pretty big dude, and that FX5200 will run it, actually better than Halo, but yet again, once I whip out my flashlight? you'd be pwned from any angle without too much effort. What use is a low ping if your comp can't give you a steady image? just a chunk of my knolege dude, I won't nag you anymore, even though it gives me pleasure. :p

I'm a fountain of computer knowledge man, but hey, "You can take liek a n00b to water, but you can't liek, make him drink, y'know?" think aboot it...
