Why can Master Chief flip a Scorpion tank over, yet not unhook the mini-gun from the warthog and run around blowing everything back to the stone age?

Anyone?

The kick on that thing would be crazy. I couldn't imagine even a Spartan being able to run forward and fire with a LAAG at the same time for very long.

I presume the LAAG is in some way dependant on the mother body (ie the Hog), so therefore wouldn't function as a hand-held device. That, and what Tanikaze said.

Well since he can flip a tank, y can't he fire a smg without kick, y can't he carry the flag wit 1 hand, y can't he kill with 1 melee shot... I know it would be unfair, but think about it... a flag in one hand and a smg or other 1 handed weapon in the other :)

and that in multiplayer you're facing other spartans, and they have a 3 ton suit, which has good defense. PLUS a sheild. And you don't really know how heavy the flag is, so he may have to hold it with two hands. Maybe thats the rules of the game...must hold flag with 2 hands. I dunno, but it is a game not a movie, and with that stuff it would be to easy.

I have to agree with both sides of the argument here. Canadian Eh is right in saying MC should be able to hold the SMG steady. I think it is fair to say that if he can flip the scorpion tank (which according to Bungie ways 6 tons) he should be able to hold a tiny Sub-Maching Gun steady. In my opinion Bungie really needs to fix the kickback and riding up of the SMG or they need to make it so you cannot flip the tank but only other smaller vehicles (ie ghost, warthog, banshee...etc).

On the other hand I have to agree with the opposite side of the argument in that if Bunge tried to make it realistic to the extreme the game would be no fun at all and it would turn into a game like Serious Sam (which by the way was a horrible game).

But I do believe that if Bungie is going to try and make Halo 2 stand up to Halo CE there has to be some kind of realistic basis to the plot and to the abilities of the characters. With this in mind Bungie should compromise eithor with the ability to flip the tank or with the fact tha MC/Arbitor cannot hold a small SMG steady when they can flip a tank.

Other than the few problems with the realistic basis of the game (ie SMG vs. Tank flipping or actual abilities in game vs. realistic abilities) Bungie did a good job in creating yet another kickass game

other than the problems with xbox live glitches and the cliffhanger ending

MAYBE THATS JUST THE WAY THE GAME WAS MADE.SOME PEOPLE GIVE WAY TO MUCH THOUGHT ABOUT THINGS.THE GAME KICKS ASS AND THATS ALL THATS SHOULD MATTER.

MC doesn't flip that tank with his arms, he uses his suit, his armor weighs in at about 700 lbs, MC him self most likly weighs about 300 lbs, a laag is a powerful gun and the recoil would rattle mc apart, 700 rds per sec? man that recoil would kill, and the smg has recoil because its suppose to be fired in BURSTS!

the chief can flip a tank because he has all the normal force from the ground to help push upward on it, the LAAG would blow him off his feet because he has nothing to brace against and the friction from the ground wouldn't hold him down.

The chief can keep the kick from the smg under control but only if his brains(you) tell his body to hold it steady(i.e. aiming slightly downward during constant fire).

So Bungie has three options here:
A) Make it so the Chief can't lift the tank and make it not only inconsistent with the books, but completely ruin heavy vehicle matches.

B) Take out recoil on the SMG and make it ridiculously overpowered and boring.

C) Leave it as is and sacrifice just a little realism to make the game really great.

I think a flag would be kind of hard to move with one hand, considering that it's almost as tall as he is...

OK my biggest complaint with master cheif is that if he can flip a tank he can keep two smgs perfectly steedy. DAMN'T I love the new weapons but halo is not realistic Master Cheif ( like in halo 1 ) should be able to hold a gun still! anyone else find that weird.

You're calling Halo 1 more realistic than Halo 2? Do you even remember the M6D?

then again
I AM HALO 2 MC, THERE ARE NO LADDER BUT IF THERE WERE ID GIVE THEM THE CLIMBING OF A LIFE TIME WHILE RELOADING MY DUAL SMG'S!!

uhh,,, there are ladders in halo 2. And you CAN reload dual smg's or rockets while climbing it too.

ripping the laag of of the hog is almost as silly a chief walking over to a tank ripping off the turret and sniping a grunt in the balls i mean come on

Back in my day we didn't have no fancy lasers, and the hogs were indestructible!

ROFL that is the best arguement I have read in this topic.

The rocks are actually incredibly dense and hard. They've packed an incredible amount of weight into one spot. If the rocks were any more massive, they'd collapse into singularities or something weird like that.

I'm not really qualified to be talking about any of this, so don't take my word on physics as gospel.
