Report people.
Well, I guess I'm going to have to PM a moderator about people using alternate accounts, huh ToP Chester?

Reporting people doesnt work as often as people think. The mods are not active in the fourms. That just leads to believe they either need more or get rid of the ones that are not active. Its news items and they should be more active. Halo 2 at the end i understand because it was the same items over and over again but come on i mean at least come with facts espically with Optimatch. The retard encharge doesnt even come on the fourms

I attribute that to the changes that the site update brought. You can no longer know who is really online since you can only see when a person last posted, and not just pinged the server. So chances are, that the people who you are reporting these infractions to may have gone offline since their last post.

As for the last statement, I'm assuming you mean Achronos, he does post in these forums. Maybe not as much as you like, but he does post. That doesn't, however, mean that he doesn't patrol them.

No not him i was talking about the guy in charge of matchmaking

Sketch is head of matchmaking, they never renewed Ninjas Contract, my point is very since he took over hes not in the fourms and hes made the dumbest decisions ever. At least Ninja posted in the fourms an interacted and Moderated that fourm. He explained everything to us and now there is nothing, no reasoning, nothing at all about Halo 3. Just in the weekly updates that sayh thank you every week. So far the mods and bungie itself has been pretty sad. Halo 3 seemed Rushed and bungie liked the mods have been very quiet

The solution is very simple, appoint more mods.

Actually it's not that simple. They can't just go around and make people mods because most people cannot be trusted and just plain suck at moderating. *cough*evilcam, just another fan, Gods Prophet*cough*

The only mods we actually need right now and who are actually good at moderating are Recon Number 54, Pezza, and Achilles (sometimes)

I really wish MakaVeli would be more active, he was a great mod as well.

Yoozel, GJJ and TGP might take exception to your assessment of who's a good ninja.

There are plenty of qualified people to moderate, many of which frequent this very forum.

GJJ is not really online often, TGP is okay I guess. I think I forgot about him. And Yoozel is another person who isn't on that often.

BTW people above me, is Skiptrace even a real moderator? I remember he used to be a "web master" or something and he never posts.

Did I say ANYTHING negative about the moderators of this site? I dont think I did.
You said they were generally too inactive, and by recommending their number be increased, that they are incapable of doing a satisfactory job.

Incorrect. I attributed the problems not to the problems in their moderating, but instead I attributed it to the increase in membership. We all know the mods are working hard, but the fact is that the number of active members has increased dramatically.

I dont think they are forced to moderate, I said give incentive(sp?), meaning give them more of a reason to be here. Make it more easy, not force them to leave their wife and kids.
Then simply say that, and not just that they need to increase their activity. There are very few times that there a no moderators online.

I figured common sense would tell you that they shouldnt be active at the sake of their personal lives. I guess people dont realize having a life takes work.

You say there are enough mods in this thread, but youre complaining about the situation of spammed pictures in another thread. So which is it, should those pictures be allowed to stay up as long as they have been, or should we try to get more moderator activity?
I hold the members responsible for those actions at fault. Had they not done that, the moderators would not have had a need to lock those threads. To say that the members are not at fault for their actions, rather that the mods are responsible for their delay in removing them, is as illogical as it is stupid.

I have never said that it was the moderators fault they were up. I never said the mods were at fault for their existance, I said the lack of moderator activity was at fault for their time up. Dont try to twist my words to avoid the obvious point.

Wouldnt this fall under were I discussed making things easier on the mods? Mhmmm
The sheer hypocrisy of this is amazing. You constantly make alternate accounts and use them to bait people into flame wars. Sure you get the person banned, but that is only because you, yourself, decided they were detrimental to the forums. That is not for you to decide, and all you are doing is needlessly increasing the workload of the moderators.

I hate to say it ToP Chester, but hypocrasy isnt something you should bring up. Do you have any proof of any of this? No, so you are now trolling me, and throwing accusations towards me in order to get a negative response. Instead I will keep myself above your petty insults and mudslinging and stick to the facts. And the fact is that you are saying that I am an alternate account, when you were recently banned for racism on ToP Chester. Racism is the worst kind of offence IMO on this forum, and we both know you are guilty of it.

You seem to like making things seem less problematic than they are. I guarantee there are well over 5K active posters, especially when you consider the halo 3 forums. There are also far less than 27 active moderators.
As far as I know, there is only one person with moderator abilities who can be called inactive.

Some how I doubt that you know what you are talking about. Here are some links showing the last post by certain people with moderators. While they may have been on since then, I would hardly consider their status active.
goweb
Jeremiah
KPaul
MakaVeli4LIfe
Nosferatu_Soldie
running turtle
SketchFactor
Skiptrace
THE DON WAN
Now, before anyone gets the wrong idea. I am not talking about their activities in their jobs as many of these people are employed by bungie, I am instead showing him that the 27 people he refered to who were active in moderating, arnet active in moderating.
Also, you make things more problematic than they need to be, especially considering your association with the "Pezza incident".
Ahhh more accusations. Who do you think I am?

So, 1% of the forums. According to you thats only around 20-25 people. Somehow, I think the mods would disagree with that number if you asked them.
I said, "Most probably," based on what I have observed. I have no way of knowing how many people report threads/members. That was an assumption, nothing more.

And, youve been active here for how long? So either A. You have very limited observations, or B. You are an alt.

Either way, I doubt if you have talked to any moderators about this, while I have. Who better knows how many PMs the moderators get than the moderators themselves?

As for the issue of you trying to call me a banned user and imply that I have done things, of which you have no proof, I consider you a troll for that. MSN conversation logs are an amazing thing See this link

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

I think the moderators do a good job, I just wish we had a 'report user' button that has an autmatic form for you to fill out and it is sent to the mod of your choice. I would report more people but the amount of time it takes is more effort than just ignoring them.

The automatic form would look like this:

Automatic link to the person's post.
How they broke the rules:
The people affected by the user's post:
The type of post: (inappropriate, spamming, flaming, trolling, rick roll, other)

Yeah they really need to bring back N0F's contract. IMO he was so together with the Optimatch community that all the really good Matchmaking proposals didn't go unnoticed.

Without him the Optimatch experience is no longer intact.

True, so true

Oh, but I'm here, reading through it. Wondering what I should say. The OP is right, various moderators don't feel like moderating anymore. And why not? It's a stupid thing to do, we don't get paid, we have the right to not moderate, so why should we bother?
It's now a matter of moderating because we don't have a choice, because somebody has to do it, rather because we want to.

Do we have inactive mods? yes.
Do we need new mods? if you ask me, yes.
