I can't wait to read this prologue! Going to print it at Uni tomorrow (the printers there is better than mine at home ;-) ). I am a bit old fashioned since I prefer reading books on a piece of paper instead of a screen (I know it's only the prologue of the book - but still).

Congratulations on finishing it Joseph Staten!

Edit:
Btw. according to Amazon.com you can buy it now: Amazon.com: Contact Harvest (Halo) (Paperback)

Fantastic prologue, great imagery! Can't wait to read the rest of the book.

Hmm. I was almost disgusted by the way Johnson and his men slaughtered captured enemies who were unarmed and surrendered. But he seemed to redeem himself when he was hesitant to snipe that "Innie" who took the little boy hostage, even though she detonated the bomb.

This civil war is like that, it can't be helped. Even President Lincoln suspended habeas corpus during the US civil war. And he didn't hesitate because of the "Innie", he hesitated because of the innocent boy. And it got his team killed, no doubt he'll be plagued by doubt about that event later in the book.

Well still, they could have restrained them and taken them prisoner. You'd think they would get better intel if they kept them all, not just the one who talked.

And I know he hesitated to shoot the "innie" because of the boy, read what I said in full.

"Bum Rush".... I had to laugh at that, but still, Joe, you very much grabbed my attention with this prologue.

Hmm, got the book on Sunday, I would watch Coles, Bungie. Fully stocked shelves of it. It's an amazing book, won't give away any details, but it explains a lot ;). It took a bit but I enjoy Joseph Statens writing, definatly will be on the look out for any more of his books.

I think I'm in for a great read, I picked it up at Barnes & Nobles earlier today.

I wonder if there is a Teabaging Medal?

If there were, it would be called "TESTOCULAR!"

Love it so far. Always wanted to know more about Johnson...'scuse me... Avery.

Ok - so now I have another book to read. That will make my 6th book EVER

Bears.Eat.Beets....Bears.Beats.Battlestar Galactica.

Great job, Staten! To be honest, I haven't read any of the Halo novels (textbooks taking up most of my reading time), but the prologue to Contact Harvest was great, and I'm gonna go pick it up. Excellent pacing and character development. Looking forward to the rest.
