An "original" player? You do know there were 6 more games before it right?

Anyway, I believe it's summer or 2005 it's coming out. But let me warn you, this is pure speculation I'm running on so dont take my word on it.

So far all we got is this.

"Evil Prevails where good men do nothing".

I never jumped on the Final Fantasy wagon, I got left behind. It seems like if I don't pick it up at the 1st one, I'm not going to know what is going on in any of the other ones.
Is there any place that you can get a breif rundown of each FF game's stroy, so that picking up one of the new ones isn't confusing? Or are they not really successive?

Almost any website you can go to that says final fantasy somewhere in the title. It doesn't matter though, none of the games are related.

Actually, you'd be better off starting at the 6th one.

Anyhow, no release date has been announced for America, I believe.

I think that FF7 was kind of the Halo of its time. It came out of nowhere, and (mostly) everyone has loved it (and Square) ever since. I wasnt a gamer until that title came out, and after that game I was totally addicted.

If you look at history trends, some people, myself included, think that FF7 was the best RPG ever. This assumption could also be made for Halo, and the FPS genre.

so far, the only actual sequel that follows the storyline of a previous Final Fantasy in FF X-2. all the others have thier own independant storylines, but have enough similarities to kep the Final Fatasy feel.
