I think there may be a mistake in halo. it states repeatedly that you are the last of your kind. however, this cannot be. in fall of reach, halsey says that all the spartans are there, except for the ones that were too far away to be called back. therefore, the spartans that die in reach are not the last, neither is the chief. this leaves tthe door open for multi spartan battles in halo 2

Not really. For all MC and everybosy else knew, you are the last of your kind, he didn't know of the other's survival.

the idea that you were "the last of your kind" fighting away the covenant on halo was floated around in abstracts for years, back to 99(?) when halo was first revealed- i'm sure, well before they had a very good Bible around that actually had other spartans still alive.

i'm gonna say it was a great press line that was latched onto early on, and couldn't be killed. And certainly to kill it, would be to admit that otheres had in fact survived. Which brings us to Halo_Freak231's post:

For all MC and everybosy else knew, you are the last of your kind.

the Fall of Reach hinted at the survival of others, but for all intent and purpose, it just sounded better to say "You're the last one left."

I'm actually suprised there wasn't bigger fanfare when the 3rd halo book came out bluntly saying there are plenty more Spartans left. ::shrugs::

Kenobi: "that boy is our last hope."
Yoda: "No. . . there is another."
Kenobi: "surely you don't mean . . . "
Yoda: "Yes . . . Avery."

ok to make a new spartan you would have to train a kid at the age of six and you would have to look for yeard to find a kid that is capable of the training and when the trainig was over some of the kids were tormented when they went through enhancing their bodies with drugs (not weed or crack but permanent steroids) like they were in life support systems in the water and couldnt move and could ont think and see. so you would have to get mayb 10 kids to get at the minimum 1 spartan and overall it would take years to do that. also when it said you are the last of your kind. at that time in the story everyone thought all the others were dead

in halo: first strike the MC finds more spartans on reach and at the end of the book MC,Linda,Fred and Will (all spartans) are all heading to earth. so there are more spartans.
