Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-war

Hold on a second here. You don't think that war is bad?

War = Killing people.

I don't mean it like that... I mean in special circumstances (like WWII) War is justified. I think war should only be used when all possible options have been exhausted, but it is a viable soloution.

In my opinion, a textbook is worse than a video game could ever be at displaying the horrors of war. At least in a video game it interests the kid, in textbooks it combines being boring with being emotionless and cold.

untrue, in my opinion. They do not show the horrors of war in either textbooks or games, which is why I hate them so. It plays it up as being a great and noble thing, where it is a wonderful and glorious crusade of righteousness... As opposed to what it is... A terrible last resort, one which the veterans of should be given the upmost respect, as opposed to mocking them by making a game which belittles their sacrifice. People need to see the horrors of war and realize that you don't want to be there... not play some damn innacurate multiplayer sim.

hey texas ben have you seen the movie "All Quiet on the Western Front"
it shows what war is like. I like it because it doesnt show what people are the heroes and what people are enemies, it just shows how horrible war can be.

If you've seen the movie "Kelly's Heroes" with Clint Eastwood there's a hippie in the war named "Oddball" played by Donald Sutherland. Great movie.

Exactly my brothers friend wanted to join the army because he watched war movies and played video games. Neither (video games, movies) depicted the actually hardships of war.

Uhh if you want to call -blam!-s carrying away millions of Jews to be killed good then uhh. no comment...Yes there were some good -blam!-s and I dont think that those -blam!-s would mind their army (if their good then they must not like it) being known as the "bad guy"

Hi there. Please note that I said Germans, not -blam!-s. My girlfriend's grandfather was in the German Army during World War II, and he wasn't a -blam!-. He wasn't a bad guy, either. (although he died a while back and I never met him) But his job was to kill Allies, just like American soldiers' job was to kill Germans. That's the point. Being a soldier is a job, not a political ideology.

Setting up a game so that the entire opposing army is inhuman or evil is just wrong, and reinforces some really twisted beliefs.

They were fighting for something. Perhaps you should build up some backround knowledge about WW2

Not all germans were evil. The majority of them fought because they were conscripted, or for their country out of national pride. Very few actually knew what was going on with the concentration camps and all. If you think all the germans were evil, then I think you're the one who needs to get some backround information.

Texas Ben pretty much answered this one for me. The average German infantryman was fighting because he was conscripted or just was a career soldier--just like the Americans, British, etc. I suspect I know a bit more about military history than you do.

"All Quiet on the Western Front" was a book and a movie, as far as I know.

I am not saying that there were not good Germans. Im saying that if they had no clue at all that the Nahtzees were killing millions of innocent people would they mind so much?

If you didn't notice, most germans today are extremely sensitive to the subject of natseeism and WWII because they resent it so. Most of the german population didn't know what was going on, and the majority of german soldiers in WWII were good, moral people, just like the americans. I'm not saying that the germans should have won, what I'm saying is that the average german was not a bad person, it was the german leadership.

The Germans think the same thing about the Trail of Tears. We (Americans) killed thousands of Native Americans for no reason. Look from their point of view.
