I wasn't able to find anything on this through searching, but does anyone know if Bungie is considering allowing third party developers to develop applications using service record data? I was thinking about creating an online tournament application that gathers game results and statistics to automate bracket positions. Anyway, it's just a thought. Anyone have any idea?

My suggestion for implementation: make service record data available through xml feeds (rss, atom, etc..). That would allow for traffic statistics to be maintained and for people to syndicate their stats.

Also, I could still mine the data to create the app, but that's not good for a couple of reasons:
- it distorts traffic statics to bungie.net
- the mining scripts would need to be updated every time bungie.net changes visually (there are ways to get around this..)
- i'm not sure if it would be against the TOS

Don't send me group invites.

The game data is already available through RSS feeds. Just go to your Halo 3 profile and go to the games and there's a little RSS link.

And I'm pretty sure you could do what you want with that information as long as you're not making money off of it.
