I think It would add an interesting twist to the game for multiplayer, but probably you would have to share it with others in order to play it on Xbox Live.

yeah like maybe you can add 100's of vehicles in your map and add explosive rods and weapons to pick up and bases and ect.

There's no way it can happen. To create the maps you need Geometry, and to be able to work with custom geometry you need fancy software like 3dmax or Maya. The one free tool is Gmax, but it doesn't have a renderer. And trying work with such complex software on an Xbox controller is close to impossible. I suppose Bungie could make a crappy tool for Halo 2, but Bungie doesn't do anything half-assed, so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it.

ahh very true....but they could have it so you hook up a keyboard or a mouse to the xbox....but then you would have to buy a connector.....and now this isnt sounding like such a good idea.... : P

i think it would be awesome...you could take turns on xbox live like attacking and defending the base YOU created.....would give an interesting twist to clan wars.....kinda a "home field advantage" type thing.

Somthing created by bungie is going to be a lot better than somthing some guy makes on an xbox with a xbox controller.

Someone set up us the bomb
on XBL i'm Gangsta Assasin

all of you loosers who don't want a map editor are braindead. have you ever played timesplitters? or TS 2? if not, you are a looser. just kidding, but seriously play it. its no halo, but it has a map editor. you connect romms and stuff . it adds a hole gnu dimension to gameplay.

It would be nice, but do you realize how much time goes into the maps that are going to be in Halo 2. With seperate issues of lighting, bump mapping, adding interactive elements and soforth. It would be nice, but the levels would probably be comparable to Wizard.

i dont want it because everyone would have multiple maps so you will have to downlaod so many maps and it would take to long just to connect to a server that isnt bungies

so then make it so it can only be used on LAN games....you just put the cd with your levels into the xbox, and it downloads them onto it...then put in halo 2 and download the levels onto the halo 2 cd...or something like that....

Ive heard a map editor will be an addition from Live3.0 and since bungie and M$ has said that Halo2 willl support 3.0 this will be a possibility, it wud work the same way as Counter-strike does anyone can create a map but then it has to be released into DLC to be used in Live play.

If Bungie could simplify the tools to make multiplayer maps to be able to be used on an xbox controller, I'd love it! but...

fat chance of that...

well if Halo 2 comes out on pc, then of course, a map editor will come out, like HEK....but i agree with whoever posted the thing about making the editor like the Tony Hawk Pro Skater map creator.....make it nice and easy so that we can do it on the xbox controller....

Far Cry Instincts is set to include a map editor, and *gasp* it's coming out for X Box. Why not have one with Halo 2 as well? Granted, Bungie has been tight-lipped about ANY multiplayer aspects besides what we've seen from E3, but who knows? It would definitely be very cool. It would open oppurtunities for those with and without X Box Live!, and for those with (if it's possible... I don't know too much about what the X Box is capable of uploading-wise), Live! custom maps might be downloadable. I doubt it'll happen, but hey, it'd be a nice little toy.

A map editor would spark new employees for game companies, because there would be people that know how to make maps and have ideas about them....a map editor would be a really cool idea for such a great game....
