The other night I played ranked team slayer with a couple of friends, and basically had my best game ever. I jumped on the ghost and managed to go the entire match without dying, and I got my fifteenth kill to win the game. That's right, it was a perfection. In fact, it was a running riot, splatter spree, and vehicular manslaughter too. Now, I don't mean to be a medal-whore, but I was pretty psyched about getting those.

So, I immediately saved the game film, put it up on my share, and then sent messages to the losing team so they could make sure and check out the film. Haha, ok so that was rubbing it in, but come on, I will probably never repeat that feat so give me a break.

Anyway, I logged on to bungie.net to admire my sweet medals and they aren't there. Furthermore, I looked up the actual game in question, and there are no stats available whatsoever.

Here, see what I mean...
http://www.bungie.net/Stats/PlayerStatsHalo3.aspx?player=Ding us%20Magee
Go to the second page of games and halfway down the list there is a game with a listed time of 11/4/2007, 5:46:18 PM. This in itself is weird because that's not even close to the time that I actually played it, but who cares. Anyway, you will notice that where there would normally be a clickable link that says "preview", it just says "unreliable" and is not clickable.

Here is what is actually listed as the summary of the game...
http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=114279 423&player=Dingus%20Magee
As you can see, there are no kills, no stats, no nothing.

This is funny because if you look at the game assets, you can see there is a screen shot of me getting the last kill that my friend who was in the game took. Check the assets or here is a link right to the pic...
http://img409.imageshack.us/my.php?image=9620569fullwn9.jpg
There is also the entire film of the match that I posted to my file share.

So, someone please tell me what happened to my greatest Halo 3 game ever? Why has it been taken off my record? Did these guys who we beat all report me for cheating and somehow got this game removed from the record? Listen, I can understand if they were upset because they got absolutely embarrassed, but I never cheat. I had a great game and they sucked real bad, honestly. Anyway, I don't even think that's possible, but I don't know what the hell happened here.

Please check the screen shot in the game assets and watch the film. Yeah they got completely destroyed, but it was legit and I want my stats. I've been playing for weeks to work up to that performance.

Thanks for your help!

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Sometimes it happens; part of the pitfalls of trying to send data from thousands of games to the servers all at once. There's not a whole lot that can be done about it -- the data just gets lost on its way to the server. It happened occasionally in Halo 2 games as well. It's unlikely that you were reported or banned; it's just bad luck, man.

Sorry to hear that this had to happen to you -- I don't foresee anything being corrected unless the servers somehow "catch up" and the stats appear. It's okay though -- keep your spirits up, I'm sure it'll happen again. :-)

I figured there was no way that this would be the one game out of the hundreds that I have played to randomly glitch. However, I guess that is possible. If that is the case, that sucks real, real bad. I think Recon Armor is a fitting retribution. Bungie, thoughts?

Ha, yeah well I hope they are. I would love to hear someone at Bungie who knows what this is explain it to me.

Heh, dude you have to consider, we all get random games that say unreliable. I don't exactly think that Bungie needs to make anything up to you by giving you a new set of armor. If you would have noticed, the other people who got their armor didn't really come here and ask for it. It's really up to Bungie as to what qualifies for Bungie armor, and from what I've seen they aren't trying to use it as a form of retribution. It's more of an award for something awesome.

Oh you mean like getting a running riot, vehicular manslaughter, perfection, and ranked game winning kill all at once? Something like that? Or perhaps doing all that and then it doesn't count. Would that qualify?

Anyway, the armor thing was a joke, dil. I don't want special treatment, I just wanted to get the stats that I earned.

Well at least I found out from your post that I am not the only person to get a game listed as "unreliable". I had never seen it before and didn't know if it was common or what. For all I knew I had the only "unreliable" game on the whole site. I guess I know now that is not the case.

I see you have a Running Riot and Perfection in your ranked medals chest. Did you already have those ones?

This only happened yesterday. Sometimes it can take a couple of days for the stats to register and update.

Ok so all in all I just have to stop whining like a little B*** and give it a few days. I can live with that. Thanks for all the input everyone.

Hmm, ok. Well, as Weggie suggested, the stats may just not have updated yet. We can only hope, eh?

Edit: Haha, I wouldn't exactly say "whining". I'd call it curiousity, plus I'd be annoyed if it happened to me.

It's my understanding that if it says "unreliable" the game was flagged due to high lag or possible standbying/cheating.

That's kind of what I suspected. That sucks. The game was legit.

"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you are a mile away...and you have his shoes."

Did the guys who were losing start quitting out? I know for fact that if enough people quit the game then the stats become listed as unreliable.

That was the reason it came up in Halo 2 anyway. Can't see why it wouldn't do the same for 3.

If that is the case, then the stats are gone for good. I've never seen an unreliable listing catch up later. Miracles can happen though...

And lookey here, Dingus got his perfection medal.

See, no need to throw tantrums, all it calls for is a little patience.

In my experience if the host lags out or quits and the rest of the players continue playing with a new host bungie.net often shows all 0's for the game or it says unreliable even though the game was played. Nothign you can do about it and just show them your sweet saved film if they ask.

Thanks for your constructive comment. Try reading the thread before you post. We covered this. The perfection you see is old. The stats I am talking about in this thread never showed up (and never will).

Also, to answer what a few other people have brought up, the opponents didn't quit out. They stayed until the end. So, who knows, it's just my luck I guess.

Anyway, whatever, it's done. I ain't gettin those medals. I'm over it.
