Halo II has one of the worst storylines of bungie! If you want a good bungie movie try lookng into the Game series Myth - that would make a GREAT movie.

Dude, you must have halo 2 mixed up with some other game.... if you really think that, you shouldnt play Halo 2 or Halo 1 for that matter cuz you obviously dont understand it.

I thought Halo's storyline was much better than Myth's. Then again, I'm not into the whole medieval thing.

As far as Bungie stories go(the ones I know), the hierarchy looks like this:
Marathon > Halo > Myth

The margin between Marathon and Halo's storylines is crazy thin.

Ach! Was ist los?

A Myth movie would be an interesting idea, but a lot of people would probably call it a Lord of the Rings ripoff.

--Sgt. Smith would go and see it nonetheless.

I disagree.

First of all, Gnop had the worst story in Bungie history, though it makes up for it with outstanding gameplay.

I also think that the Storyline hiearchy goes like this:
Marathon>Myth>Oni>Halo>Halo 2>ODS>Minotaur>Gnop!

Why did you condense the Marathon and Myth games as a series each, but not Halo?

Marathon2>Marathon>Marathon Infinty>Halo2>Halo.

Can't comment on myth because my copy isn't here yet. Can't comment on PiD cause' I didn't finish it. Can't comment on Gnop because it owns all.

  • 12.16.2004 6:26 PM PDT

I don't think that's quite right. Story-wise, I would say:

Marathon Infinity > Marathon > Myth > Marathon 2 > Myth II > PiD > O:DS > Halo 2 > Halo > Abuse > Minotaur/Gnop.

Gameplay-wise

Marathon 2 > Myth II > Myth > Gnop > Marathon Infinity > Marathon > Halo 2 > Halo > PiD > Abuse > O:DS

Having never played Minotaur, I can't comment on gameplay, but I know it's multiplayer, so I'm assuming that it's not too brilliant story-wise.

I guess I'll just never understand why people don't like Halo's story. *Shrug*

MARATHON MOVIE after Halo 4
it would be hard or just a mediam
like (a really good) movie that connects Halo to marathon
i just something with marathon
i kinda want it remade but i don't want them to screw it up.
hmmmm

As for comparasion i have my own theory
Jontar's line of events
PID>HALO> HALO 2 +3 > HALO 4 (or other name) > Marathon> marathon 2> marathon Infinity

or if bungie wanted to sell any tickets (no young gamers or casual gamers have even heard of any of bungies other games) halo or halo 2> all other bungie titles

The marathon series is unparallelled in terms of story, but a movie is out of the question. They would jack it up, because we can't ever hear any of the charachters. Ever. And in a movie we would have to do that. And they would have to drag jason jones out to play robert blake (Who would doubtlessly take a bigger role than he ought)...

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Jontar PiD and Marathon are in a different universe than Halo, because the Marathon leaves Earth about 100 years before Halo, and it's Humanity's first contact with aliens.

  • 12.19.2004 9:38 PM PDT

And, that whole "Halo and Marathon take place in entirely different universes" mantra that Bungie likes to say.

Yeah, but Reiginko, how is it that Gnop is higher on the gameplay list than Marathon, Infinity and Halo & H2? I have never played it so I can't have an opinion, but I'm curious.

Subtle humour. I couldn't put it first, since M2 is the best game ever, and Myth is teh awesomo, so anywhere else would have been ludicrous. Just like I don't really believe ODS had a better story than Halo (you are a tank. I researched this game lots. Go shoot things).

Is that a fact, or is that Leela speaking out of ignorance? How could the Marathon know about the Covenant?

It is a fact, Bungie has explicitly said they are different universes. There are better reasons too, but I'm tired so I can't think of them. Good Night.
