Hey all, I was wondering if this was a good gaming pc since you're all smart around these parts and can answer my questions honestly =].
I've been looking to buy a new pc. I don't want to build it myself since I do not know how so I found one. Will this pc be prebuilt with the options I chose or will I need to build it myself? Linky to Pc =]

Here are the Pc's specs.. I'm wondering if this would be able to run Crysis, Ut3 CoD4 at Med - High settings at 1024x768 with an 8800GT 512Mb or should I get a 8800GTS 320MB?

Case:Raidmax Sagitta II Mid-Tower 420W Gaming Case w/ Side-Panel Window
Neon Light Upgrade:12in COLD CATHODE NEON LIGHT
Extra Case Fan Upgrade:Extra Case Cooling Fan x3 Fans.
Power Supply Unit:600 Watts Power Supplies(CoolerMaster Unit 600 Watts eXtreme Power - SLI Supports) (Will this be able to run everything Mobo, Pc, GPU, CPU?
CPU:(Sckt775)Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6850 CPU @ 3.00GHz 1333FSB 4MB L2 Cache 64-bit ) (Heard it was good plus 3.0Ghz.. is it good for a gaming pc?
Cooling Fan:INTEL LGA775 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK ) ( Do I have too many fans?)
Motherboard:(Quad-Core FSB1333) Asus P5N-E nForce 650i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard) (Is this a good mobo capable of holding an 8800GT?) Also will the ram fit in this mobo?)
Ram:(Req.DDR2 MainBoard)2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory) (Sorry, not getting 4g way too much and no point)
GPU:(8800GT 512MB or 8800GTS 320MB?)
Monitor: No monitor - Already have one
Hard Drive:320GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (More than enough GB for me)
Optical Drive:(Special Price) 18X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER)
Sound Card:3D WAVE ON-BOARD 5.1 SOUND CARD) (Is this an ok sound card or upgrade?)
Speakers:Logitech X-230 2.1 Configuration Speakers System
Lastly:Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic(32-bit Edition) Dont want home prem.. not worth it..

That's about it guys, again thanks for all the help if you do respond, just need an answer on weather or not this will be a good pc.. priced at $1151.00 If you know a cheaper site with good specs like these, i'd love to know. I'd also prefer Nvidia over Ati.. Had ati for a good 2 years but starting to dislike them.

Patience these forums aren't that busy. Someone will be around to give you a more informed opinion then I can. The price seems a bit high but thats probably because I'm used to buying parts and building it myself. You can never have too many fans. As for the GPU I would go with the 512MB memory as newer games are going to start to need that much soon.

Hello! Star Wars FTW. Also, join the MAW group. Please?

Your PC looks great to me. You CPU is pretty awesome, 1333 MHz FSB and a 3GHz core clock. Fastest kind of DDR2 ram you can get too. Doesn't seem too expensive either, considering it includes an 8600. I've put about 1700 into mine, and it's pretty much the same only I have an 8800gts and Vista Home Premium. I say buy.

Alright, I was thinking around the same lines =] thanks for the answer, appreciate it very much.

[Edit] so is the 600W PSU capable of powering it all?

k.. so will the ram and Gpu be able to fit in the selected Mobo?

  • 11.11.2007 6:50 AM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Yeah, you could run 2 8800 GTX's on it, and yes, it can support 4 Gigs of ram. I have 4 gigs and there is a big difference in it's preformance, I also have 2 8800 GTX Ultra's. But, unfortunately, I should have waited until they came out with the 9'ers or the 8900 series to get those, but it's still beautiful.
