In keeping with all the recent rampant speculation I am going to muse about a few things that I think will be in Halo 2, as well as some of the misinformed rants made by people wanting the game to be 'balanced' yet have no idea what that really means. First off the pistol. The pistol will probably be back in Halo 2 yet in a different form. People have complained that the power of the pistol is unrealistic, it is not. Look at the Desert Eagle, or simply look at the stats placed on it in the game manual, it is easy to make a pistol more powerful than an assault rifle, a Colt M1911 is stronger than an M16 A-2.

Another, the Covenant A.I will be pretty good, but it will not be nearly as godly and spectacular as you all think it will be. It will be beatable of course, probably a little more cunning than it currently is but that's about it. The Brute will be a very awsome and powerful enemy as well, the Brute was just a grunt with a different character sprite at E3 2003, for those of you who still do not know. There will probably be some sort of a health indicator, but probably not a health bar, who really knows though.

I will add more with the EDIT command as I think of them, muse in response if you will.

Very good, but I still think that the pistol is overpowered, especially compared to the assault rifle. The assualt rifle is like someone took a battle rifle and tried to make it a smg.

People -blam!- about the M6D too much. thanks for pointing out that the M6D is where it should be. However a minor change is okay....eliminating the scope is a major change for anyone that would say that. And in MP it should be lowered in power, in SP it should stay the same.

The pistol wasn't overpowered, the AR was underpowered. A fairly high-calibur explosive round would inflict a load of damage, armor or not. The only place where the pistol might stand for a little tweaking is its accuracy at such long range. Being able to get consecutive hits at 100+M is a bit of a stretch. Overall though, I think it's a fine weapon.

The AR, on the other hand just got the shaft (don't blame other weapons). I guess Bungie wanted it to be the last-resort backup weapon with few limits on your ammo.

I definitely agree with enemy AI too. Guys like Frankie, Bungie and 'the press' keep ranting on how great and tough the AI will be, but I think we'll be disappointed. I imagine they'll make good with claims that enemies will behave more realisticly (or as realistic as a ficticious being can), have a little personality, and will make use of the environment, but they won't be able to go toe to toe with us for the majority. I imagine elites or brutes on Legendary might give us a bit of trouble (as they occassionally did in Halo:CE), but I think the chief's new moves will probably more than compensate for that. They'll be tougher, but we won't be thinking twice before charging the grunts on any difficulty.

yeah, lot of speculation, just like everyone else. Who knows what Bungie's done. With the new order of Elite's, like higher ranks, there may be higher ranking Grunts, one you can actually fear, not cause of their strength, maybe new weapons or tactics. Regardless I wont be disappointed

Yes, there is a bit of speculation in here, but I just think it was about time some people actually thought about what they say before they say it.
