What's with all the caps. Anyway, they don't in Halo 1. You have a translator, as the grunt language has been partially transliterated.

Wort wort wort probably means some thing like, "attack with all ya gots!" but I'd rather have it wort wort wort

Yes there is a translator in all UNSC nueral implants (all UNSC persoannel have one). No the Covenant can not speak our language, hence our trying to translate their langauges.
we can understand Grunts because we have faced them for 27 years. As for Elites, no, they are brand new to the UNSC as are hunters. Jackals are just too complex.

But actually I'd love to hear a Grunt's native tongue. That would be cool.

That isn't necessarially a literal translation. That is how they got the Elite langauge, it doesn't necessarially mean Wort Wort Wort means Go Go Go in the Halo universe.

I know that is what it is, but in the actual Elite dialect(not the reverse-slowdown), it may mean something totally different than "Go Go Go."

Ok if you record your voice and say go and play it backwards and it doesnt do the squecky noise it will sound like u said wort. the elites speak english but its is recorded backwards so when an elite say wort wort wort he saying go go go that is why they talk like that

wilshire is right just go into ur sound recorder (its on almost every conputer make sure u have a mic) say Go Go Go in to it then under effects click on reverse and slow speed once and it will be pretty close

You guys are missing the point. (maybe, i dont know myself)

That IS how bungie got the Elite's voices, but is that what Bungie actually intended for it to say?

EGM says thats why they speak like that, but is that true, or did EGM just come to the same assumption some of you people have.

I dont think these all advanced aliens speak english backwardsa and lower pitched, it isnt riight. I'm pretty sure thats just Bungie's way of making the alien voices...
