The Matrix Trilogy is by far one of the best and most MISUNDERSTOOD trilogies ever to hit the entire world. But what contributes to everyone's disgust with the finale of the Trilogy? I will explain.
Three different people existed as a result of the 1st Matrix.
Those that:
1) HATED it
2) LIKED it
3) LOVED it
Everyone that liked it only did because they had never imagined bullet time, someone stopping bullets, and jumping really far. They also really LIKED the cool martial arts and all of the bullet time gunfights. However, this is about as far as it goes for LIKE it people. They never quite understood (or cared) about the concept of the Matrix ‘thing’ (even though they thought they did). Thus, when Reloaded dropped, they were unimpressed with the same bullet time and martial arts, even though there was 5 times more of it. K. Reeves even says there are 3 times more martial arts movements in the 1 Burly Brawl scene than in the ENTIRE 1st movie.
Those that LOVED the 1st Matrix did so because of the whole Machine world concept, theories, philosophies, Biblical similarities, etc.etc. So, when the 2nd movie hit, they loved it b/c it went even deeper than the 1st. Oh yeah, the LOVED it for the cool visuals too.
Those that LIKED the 1st movie mostly ended up hating the Trilogy because they were lost when Reloaded dropped. Furthermore, 80% of these people never saw or understood the Animatrix, nor did they play Enter the Matrix. The Animatrix and the game had so much to do with the Trilogy its funny. The W. Brothers did that on purpose. I don’t think they wanted the Matrix Trilogy to be loved by everyone. That’s why the Animatrix and Enter the Matrix were downplayed. They figured if you LOVE the Matrix, you will find out how far does the rabbit hole goes.
