Subject: Getting weird graphical glitches in Halo 2 PC

I have weird graphical glitches while playing Halo 2 on my laptop, especially noticeable on the main menu. On certain surfaces or character models, there's a weird flickering effect. I'm guessing it's a video card issue, but I'm not totally sure. I'm tried changing graphical detail and turning off AA but nothing is working so far. Here are some of my specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 (2.0 GHz/800MHzFSB, 2M L2 Cache)
2GB DDR2 667 MHz
128MB Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS
Windows Vista Home Premium

Anyone know if I can fix this? Any help is appreciated.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Have you tried a clean reinstall yet?

What do you mean clean reinstall?

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Unistalling it, then reinstall it, after deleting the associated files.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

I'd say no.

What operating system are you running it on? I got H2V working on XP, and I had the same problems as you. But if this just started happening now, that's prolly not the problem.

You could also have the wrong drivers for your video card, or your video card might just be slowly crapping-out. When my card died, It just started out as weird speckles and lines everywhere. And a lot of damn flickering.

So I'm not sure. Do other games do this? Please provide some more info.

I've seen that happen to a few computers. Just play with some settings until it stops doing it.

Hello! Star Wars FTW. Also, join the MAW group. Please?

I know exactly what you are talking about with the strange flickering and all. It just stopped when I updated my video card driver.

Ok, I updated the video card drivers and it looks great now. Thanks guys.

I'm wondering why I didn't think of it now.
