Welcome to the Community :-)

To start, the best thing you can do is to just try to be a friendly and helpful member of the forums -- there are far too few, especially in the Halo 3 Forum. There are also many "private groups" that are smaller, more intimate forums where you can discuss other topics of interest to you; a good thing to do is to get involved in some of those groups. If you want any suggestions, feel free to Private Message (PM) me or other friendly people here. If you're interested in some of the volunteer fanclub community projects, try joining the private group Community Projects. If you want to get caught up on the various activities and culture surrounding the 7th Column and Bungie, check out the links in my "signature" by scrolling your mouse over my avatar.

Once again, welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here.

Or, you could take Foman's advice.

Though I lean towards the "bring Recon bags of money" option.

It's your choice. No pressure.
I meant "in addition to what Recon said."

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

The greatest contribution would be to post and be happy, but donations for Recon are also appreciated (he needs the money in his dotage).

The last donation I gave to Recon was for The Blind Quadriplegic Puppy Fund. The day after my donation I saw Recon riding around on a brand new Vespa.

Oh, he's always had that. He was just driving it to the Blind Quadriplegic Puppies.

... In the wrong direction.

More towards Vegas.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Should have just put some money earlier on in a savings account. After what...two-hundred-odd years that would have appreciated to a considerable sum of money.

Foresight, my dear Recon...foresight.

Strange…I sent a donation to the “Get Recon a Vespa” fund and received a letter about blind quadriplegic puppies and my charity towards them and their plight.

If I might build upon Foman’s advice, the process of contributing involves being a good person and letting all of that goodness flow into your virtual self. Obviously, posting is a basic method of contribution. Posting in the right manner is rather simple. If you see a stupid thread, don’t go into it. If you see a person flaming someone else, or who is spamming the forums, then tell a moderator (this cannot be stressed enough). If someone makes a mistake, kindly inform them of that mistake and how they might correct themselves in the future. Just follow this sort of general trend.

Furthermore, making good threads is a lot of help. It not only sparks discussion, but if you think you have an idea on a way to improve the community or the site, then you can always come here to suggest it. At the very least you’ll get some good criticism.

And of course, if you have any questions, ask someone. It’s better to admit you don’t know something and ask for help than to risk making a mistake. Pretty much any moderator would be happy to help, or you can just search around this forum for some people who you think are knowledgeable and friendly.

Now go! Go and build up that lovely social capital!

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

Sure Recon I'll give you my money, just give me your account details... It's quicker that way

"But you were dead a thousand times. Hopeless encounters successfully won. A man long dead, grafted to machines your builders did not understand. You follow the path, fitting into an infinite pattern. Your to manipulate, destroy and rebuild. Now, in the quantum moment before closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny."
