I think the easiest fix would be to make it individual effort and not team effort.
Benefits:
1. Greatly reduce people yelling at team mates for poor preformance since only personal effort goes into ranking. (it's not right to do since it's just a game, but it does happen frequently, especially at the more competitive levels). - Happier Halo 3 Community -
2. Players match making level would adjust to their skill, and not their team mates skills, greatly eliminating the large difference in skill often found in each level. (Since it's a number that is supposed to ajdust to find players of simular skill (more fun right?) why would anybody want a players skill level inflated by the skill of other team members, only to struggle when the higher skilled team members are no longer matched with the player. - Again Happier Halo 3 Community -
3. Great reduction in boosting and cheating. Even if a player is standbying for their team, the team isn't getting any kills, and will not level up, so what would be the point? Or if playing with a higher level player to boost your account, if you aren't able to keep up then your level wouldn't go up so what would be the point of boosting? -Again Happier Halo 3 Community-
4. Be able to play with your friends that are not as good, still have fun when they do horribly :) since their play doesn't effect your skill level.
Anyone else think of any benefits of this idea???
I would rather have my level adjust to my efforts in a game, so I can continue to raise until I reach the matchmaking level that is equilivant to my skill (making the game more fun) and not have my level increase delayed because I am matched with players with inflated levels from playing with their superior team mates are going through a readjusting phase back down to their actual level.
Why make a big deal who cares right? Well remember we are paying somebody a yearly fee to maintain our XBL experience. We should demand it to be better.
