Community Spotlight : Evilcam
Posted by KPaul at 1/29/2007 5:05 PM PST
This interview started when Evilcam added me to his contact list. As with all people who randomly add me to their contact list, I scrutinized this action and indeed his very manhood.<KP> Who are you and where did you get this address?!
<Evilcam> I've just been made a moderator on Bungie.net.
<KP> So you think you can just waltz right the -blam!- into my contact list?
<Evilcam> Hmm, I thought I was supposed to add everyone in HFCS.
<KP> Fool, you don't know me!
<Evilcam> Sorry if I made you angry.
<KP> Alright newjack, I'm gonna cut you some slack. This time.
<Evilcam> Okay, I'll treasure my reprieve.
<KP> You son of a -blam!-.
<Evilcam> You don't waste any time. I expected some hazing. So, insult away. I deserve it.
<KP> Nah, I'm pretty much done. So, where ya from?
<Evilcam> Denver Colorado.
<KP> Do you play hockey?
<Evilcam> No. I do watch it on occasion though.
<KP> Alright, a girly man it is.
<Evilcam> You?
<KP> Of course. Manliness is a prerequisite to Bungie employment. Except for the chicks. Then it's just a bonus.
<Evilcam> My favorite sport is MMA. I don't do that either though. My nose breaks pretty easily.
<KP> Define: MMA
<Evilcam> Mixed Martial Arts. Like the UFC or PrideFC.
<KP> I see. How old are you?
<Evilcam> 24.
<KP> How do you spend your time?
<Evilcam> Mostly working. But I'm on the internet quite a bit too. Usually Bungie.net, and Wikipedia.
<KP> What's your work? Zebras?
<Evilcam> I'm a glazier. I fix windows and doors.
<KP> Do you only fix, not create?
<Evilcam> Nope. I'm too low-brow to create.
<KP> Then you should destroy, it's just as satisfying as creation.
<Evilcam> Oh, I do my share of demo. Now that’s a mood equalizer.
<KP> For instance: the designers create the game, and I wreck their self-confidence by whooping them. For example: Joe Tung.
<Evilcam> You do seem to be a lot better than everyone else.
<KP> Not really. It’s just that they're old, I’m not.
<Evilcam> How old are you?
<KP> Of legal drinking age.
<Evilcam> So, did you get this gig through MOAP or HBO?
<KP> HBO and the IRC server spawned of it, primarily. That, and my beautiful hair. It's really quite exquisite.
<Evilcam> Just like a modern day Samson. That's where your power lies.
<KP> Or John Stamos as Jesse on Full House!
<Evilcam> Yeah that guy's hair was pretty braggable.
<KP> What're your main haunts on Bnet? Do you hang out in The Flood mostly, maybe Zanzibar or are you more of an Underground/Septagon man?
<Evilcam> Mostly the Flood. But that’s only because the Septagon moves so slowly.
<KP> How do you spend your free time?
<Evilcam> I don't really do anything anymore. I've had my fill of drama and police interventions. You?
<KP> Awesome. I spend my free time doing what I do at work, but at home!
<Evilcam> Playing "Pimps At Sea"?
<KP> Not quite, but sometimes.
<Evilcam> I've been wondering, how many PMs did you get when you were doing the avatar thing? 500,000?
<KP> Bring it down about three orders of magnitude and that's probably accurate, 500 or so pertaining to the avatars on top of the normal load, which varies depending on how active and visible Frankie's been. If he’s away and I’m posting all the updates, including weekly updates, I see about twice as many as the norm.
<Evilcam> Sounds like a pain in the ass. You probably don't really have time to do much else. I guess that's why they call it a job.
<KP> Well, not really, PMs don't take up too much of my time. I spend more time posting on forums and stuff. It's just a matter of keeping on top of the PMs so I'm never looking at more than five or so. Except in the morning, there're usually about ten waiting.
<KP> So how long have you been around Bnet?
<Evilcam> I made my first account in 2004. But all I did was work and play Halo 2 on live. So that was deleted due to inactivity. This account has been around since 6/11/06. So, I'm pretty new any way you look at it.
<KP> You work quickly. While seniority is a factor in these things, beyond that we're looking for level-headed, common sense-wielding dudes. You seem to possess these qualities, so we’re glad to have another non-jerkbag on the team
<Evilcam> Thank you.
<KP> Just don't -blam!- up, or I will personally end you.
<Evilcam> I believe you.
<KP> There're gonna be a lot of blams in this interview, oh well.
<Evilcam> Awesome. I didn't even know I was being interviewed.
<KP> Neither did I.
<Evilcam> Tricky bastard!
<KP> But the opening just worked out too well.
<Evilcam> It will mostly be about your 360.
<KP> It should be heavily edited to reduce the content regarding me, actually [for instance, the fact that details regarding my 360 shows up nowhere in this interview].
<Evilcam> Then, what's the point?
<KP> I often ask myself the same question. I’m gonna get goin, though, take care.
<Evilcam> I look foward to your next interview/rant about purple pixies.
<KP> Don’t forget, I’ll end you.
This community spotlight was deleted and may not be found in any previous news articles on Bungie.net. Therefore, I thought I would post the interview here to bring back some old memories and allow Bungie.net members to use this thread for discussion.
