I Agree With Hannibal Skye. Bungie should really take the time to find out what the community really wants instead of putting out playlists and gametypes that while fun and entertaining can become old and boring real quick. I believe that they should look at thier mistakes from halo 2 and try to improve on them. I personally have been playing halo for a very long time now and i believe that halo 2 on xbox live at first was terrible but over the years they improved on it and the only thing i can say that really made halo 2 "not fun" would be the cheaters on it. But that fact aside the playlists were great. there were a large variety of gametypes to choose from and not many people complained. most who did were complaining over modders or "standbyers". Also taking down Social Doubles is one of the worst things yet. that was the one game type where players could "warm up" and just have fun without the pressure of losing. it was a way to play and have fun. now i feel as if im forced to play team doubles ranked.. i belive that the playlists they should add should be as following:
*PLAYLISTS*
-Social Doubles (Bring It Back!)
-Team Hardcore
-Ranked BTB
-Team Snipers
-Infection
-A community inspired Playlist (much like the one they had on halo 2)
On another the note i have been reading on forums about the topic on beat downs. i have to agree that most times i will press the button down to punch
i will hear the sound that im making contact but i will die and the other person will only be hurt not dead. its really fustrating and i would like to know if any other person experiences this effect or something else.also in swords it seems when i "clash" with an opponent the other person also gets the beat down faster then i do. i have experience this quite a few times and no matter how fast i press the button down i still lose.i would like if someone would give me an explanation or atleast tell me if this has been happening to them too. Sadly most readers will see the length of this and not bother to read this but for those who do i thank you for taking the time to hear me out and feedback would be excellent. thanks again
i agree with you, about the playlist, even though i got back into halo 2, only 6 months before halo 3 came out, i think the playlists you mention should be brought back from halo 2 and put in halo 3, for me team snipers was really fun in halo 2, and i think shotty snipers in halo 3 is not that fun because well...if ppl cant use the sniper they just will go inside somewhere and hide (for example: underground on snowbound, inside the base in highground, etc.) i know thats another way to play the game but personally adding the shotgun just ruins the sniping part of it. and personally it is really tough to no scope for me, and its even harder when the other person will just pull out a shotgun, which prevents me from getting better with the sniper, and forces me to take out the shotgun when i dont really want to.
but i think the reason bungie might not want to bring back team snipers is because people will have like 1000 kills with the sniper and very little other weapon kills, also it would probably be abused by people wanting level up quickly and get exp quick, like saying.."oh ill just do snipers over and over and get to level 50" but there are i think more reasons for bungie to bring it back than to just keep shotty snipers.
also about what you had said about the melee system, what you described has happened more than frequently and is definatley frustrating, i really hate the system so im practically being forced to avoid melees because the system is so screwed up it just ruins my kill/death ...even though on my social i have a ton of melees and sword kills, i agree and know what you mean by what your saying.
