This may get me permanantly banned from getting the recon armor, like I care, but Bungie, your forum sucks. I don't even know where to begin, how about the fact that when you post a reply it takes you to the end of the thread where you posted? I don't want to read my post, I just wrote it, I know what it says, I want to continue reading where I left off, I post, then I have to go back and find where I left off. How about message notification? How about a link in the reply that takes you back to the last message in case you need to review what was said? Seriously man, go here and get some pointers, I could go on and on. How is it that you can make such a fantastic series of games, but can't make a decent forum?

Edit: So far I've gotten a bunch of responses from people proclaiming the superiority of B-net, but not one who's actually spent time posting on Delphi to have a frame of reference. They aren't even willing to check it out, complaining about the colors and advertisments on the home page instead, come on people, I'm not talking about moving this site over there, I'm talking about improving this site, it's not perfect, no site is, at least consider the posibility that it wasn't created by God.

If you haven't spent time on Delphi, or don't have any suggestions for improvements, please don't talk to me, you can't have a reasonable discussion if you haven't even seen the subject.

I've been visiting online forums since before the internet existed. That is not an exaggeration -- I used to dial into Bulletin Board Systems (BBSs) back in the early 1990s. I've seen them all, from the very genesis of the online forum up to the modern iterations. I remain in respectful disagreement with the entirety of your post.

The "CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions" was to click the link, it leads to a well organized forum from which they could learn a lot, try clicking the link, if you think this is maximum efficiency, you haven't been to many forums.

lol'd. Hint: Drop the second bit.

I don't want to read my post, I just wrote it, I know what it says,

It does this so you can proof read and check for errors in formatting. Too many people refuse to use the preview button. It helps to an extent.

I want to continue reading where I left off,

You should read the entire thread before you post. It's bad manners not to.

Seriously man, go here...

ed:oh god no! Those forums are awful! absolute murder on the eyes!! How can you read anything there?

LOL, go to Delphi and check it out, I think you'll like it better. Their copyright only applies to their code, Bungie can take some of their ideas, and write their own code, or they can just buy the rights to use Delphi's code.

Have you been to Delphi though? I've seen many forums, and I certainly wouldn't say this is the worst, but I will say that Delphi is the best.

Remake site < Make awesome games on the to do list. And don't say "Hire more people to do it!" Money is the root of all decisions corporate, and frankly, the employees are starting to catch on to Bungie's Monopoly dollar scheme.

Yeah, some of the forum owners are a LITTLE color blind, but you can set it up any way you want, some of them really do hurt the eyes.

Well, that shouldn't be a problem, since you read the entire thread before posting, like any experienced forumgoer knows to do. So actually, it does take you back to where you left off, and in case it's been posted in after that, you can continue from there.

How about message notification? How about a link in the reply that takes you back to the last message in case you need to review what was said?Message notification... you mean something like a PM sent if someone replies to a thread? That would be way to many PM's being sent out. There are no forums where you really need that, either. If you want something similar, simply click the "Save Thread" link at the top, and it will appear in a list of saved threads that you can go back and look at. You can also perform a simple search for your name with the author filter, and it will bring up all of your latest posts. Clicking the "More posts by this user" link under your name will have the same affect.

Seriously man, go here and get some pointers, I could go on and on. How is it that you can make such a fantastic series of games, but can't make a decent forum?Unless I missed it, I can't view those forums without signing up. If that's the case, that automatically puts them on my list of dumbest sites in the 'net. Also, that site hurt my eyes.

Edit: If there is one thing that sometimes annoys be about these forums, it's the absurd amount of space put in after a quote block. It makes it so I can't use a new line after a quote, so the code of the post looks all messy. :|

Recon

I can respect your opinion, but just two things, if I read to the end of a 100 post thread, there'll probably be 10 or 15 posts that I'll want to reply to, then I have to try to remember them, then go back and find them, then each time I post it'll take me to the end, and I'll have to go back and find the next one I want to reply to, not very effecient. And without any kind of notification, if I post in a bunch of threads I have to go through the hassel of keeping track of them, and going back occasionally to see if anyone replied, that'd be a pain. It doesn't have to be E-mail, I turned my E-mail notification off at Delphi, they have a "Show discussions" drop down menue that has a "with unread messages to me" option, that's how I find my messages.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

Nearly ALL forums I go to, (weather it be V-Bulletin or here) put my post at the end. Message notification are annoying. I get tons of messages. The servers would crash from my notifications alone. (Imagine what the moderators would get all together)
Avatars are a BAD idea here. We get enough sickos visiting here alone. And waiting for avatars to be accepted would take forever.
