That would be great for a game entitled "save the rainforest" but not Halo2.

my idea is called convoy. one team has to get cargo from point a to point b. they can load it onto the back of the large warthog or two people can carry it. this team has more vehicles. the other team has to intercept the cargo and then either destroy it (but it takes alot of punishment so the other team can respawn and reclaim it) or take the cargo stealing it and delivering it to point c in the map. what do you guys think?

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Well maybe change the animals to Civilians or Prophets for the Covenant.

Im pretty sure there will be animals in the future. Without other creatures we would be forced to become 100% vegetarians and plus, no worms means no good soil and crap like that. basically, the world wouldnt work without animals.

Thats sounds fun I pictured the hangar from the PoA as an ideal location for this. Dont know why.

Single Flag CTF.....version 2

theres a flag in the middle in a huge bunker. Both teams have bases and an assortment of vehicles. You must grab the flag and return it to your base to score. The first team to do this wins (or gets a point if you want to play it longer)

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

A massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter. Hundreds, Thousands, and Maybe even millions could play Halo at the same time. It would be like a real war! All the Human type soldiers (Marines, Helljumpers, Spartans,) would fight against all of the Covenant type soldiers (Elites,Jackals,Grunts,) and There would be a special chain of command that everyone would have to follow. There would be space cruisers, ring worlds, fights on earth, just about any kind of battle you could think of could take place! And there would be animals, and you could finally kill 343 Guilty Bastard! I know it doesn't sound very probable, but it does sound like fun right?

I don't know, though the covenant has been glassing them we have other colony worlds. maybe they we're designed to specific functions like mining for materials, farming and agriculture. earth would then become human population central. its quite plausable considering many colonies we're around before the covenant war
thanks for liking my idea ash yours is good too, and would ultilise vehicles well

Respawn

Theres a respawn tank for every player and theyre all destructible. Both situated at two bases. You have to go to your opponants base and destroy as many respawn tanks as you can. (when you respawn you start from the tank) You keep destroying them until your opponants stop respawning and you win the match.

Cannon: Maybe not for this iteration of Halo but perhaps for Halo3 on the new Xbox. That would be awesome. Probably using cellular style programming for handling inter-area transitions.

My personal game I called Kingdoms. Each team (remember there's a rumour of up to 4 teams) gets one King who must hold the flag to identify him to the other teams. The only way to score is to kill a king so you must protect your king while trying to kill those belonging to other teams.

Of course, if your King is killed another one is randomly selected (Preference given to larger groups of allies and those not under fire) and the flag appears in his hand. At that point the announcer calls out "The King is Dead. Long live the King."

Hi-Jack

Theres two hangar base areas for each team. And you start with 2 ghosts and a warthog. The aim is to get 6 vehicles into your hangar. So that means...? That you must aquire all of your opponants vehicles as well as get your original vehicles back to your base. Theres a vehicle respawn point in the middle of the level incase some vehicles are destroyed.

I assume this could take full advantage of the new boarding ability as well as force team co-operation and vehicle battles

But if your king
1) You would most likely hide +
2) It would be boring because you have no weapons.

this next idea of mine comes from the second book 'the flood' where melissa mckay leads captured vehicles from the pillar of autumn to alpha base. one team must get the vehicles back to a base (or off the marked side of the map) depending on how many intact vehicles they get across the more points. the more damaged the vehicle is the more points. the other team scores points depending on vehicle damage and how many they blow up. destructable vehicles allows for this which is great. the enemy team has vehicles but not as many of course as those trying to get them across. the attacking team cannot attack until the vehicle parade crosses a certain point this makes it fair preventing them camping at the vehicle point but also gives them time to prepare a trap. theres a lot of strategy because either you can have more men per vehicle for firepower and defense or one per vehicle for vehicle quantity. you could have abit of boh and have them protect the defenseless ones. for the attackers rockets and snipers would rule

It's not for everyone. That's why it's a team based strategy game. *lol* It's not a slayer. Sure you could play it like a slayer but that defeats the point.

Hiding is just one strategy. There are many. Another possibility is to hole up in a base with all of your subjects around to hold the base, sending out only a single assassin type.

If the other team tries to attack your base en masse, leaving their King hidden somewhere on the map. All your assassin has to do is find him and BLAM. Score.

I like your idea Zamamee but let's thing about simplifying it. Why not set it up in two five minute heats. Each side gets to either attack or defend in turn. Points are scored by how many vehicles you get through. That way you don't have to worry about balancing the two sides of the combat since both teams get to do both once.

Yes, just like Assault. If you leave it flat then you really have to work at balancing out everything, trying so hard to make sure everything is perfectly balanced.

Now, if you make them take turns at driving the convoy and attacking then this is not so important. Since both sides will have have all the same chances you don't have to worry about it so much.

Aerial

One team gets a high ground base and a hangar b-blam!- with banshees. The other team starts off on a base that is connecting to a central area full of destructible (i dont know...lets say...little power stations) (These "powerstations" are no bigger than a gun turret though)

The banshee team must destroy all the power stations and the ground team must bring them down and defend the powerstation things. The ground team cannot ride a banshee only warthogs and ghosts (and whatever other vehicles they may have). The banshee team have 3 minutes to destroy the stations and if they dont get all of them they lose. The ground team lose if all are destroyed. Then you switch...

I like Aerial, though I'd rename it "bombing run" The question lies in how high you will make your ceiling. It it's too high then the Banshees will just hover up at the top and drop fuel rods down at random. If it's too low the Banshees are going to get munched.

I think you should let the defenders pick up a banshee if they manage to steal one. The Banshee would be swarmed and outnumbered but he might be able to cause some chaos before he goes down, buying time for his buddies down below. Additionally, if you flew your banshee down and picked up a scorpion or even a ghost you could probably rain ruin on the power stations while the defenders are scurrying about trying to find you inbetween the power stations.

'Getaway' (or 'bank robbery') [requires a large map.]

one team is the bank robbers, driving wart hogs and has to complete a certain # of checkpoints, kind of like a race to escape.

the other team has to chase them and stop them from finishing their race and escaping.

Scoring would be based on total # of checkpoints finished for team , and total # of kills for team 2.

then teams would switch.
