Subject: Hey look, it's reading!

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Actually, i've bought the whole series, but i'm only in the middle of Foundation. It's so damn awesome. I don't like Mallow, though. Salvor Hardin was a much cooler character.

Inside Delta Force, while not super duper awesomely written (not saying that the guy is a bad writer or anything, but you can obviously tell he's a soldier with the ability to put his thoughts onto paper and not much else) is still a really fascinating book that will give anyone an enormous sense of respect for our special-ops boys. Seriously, the stuff the Delta Force can do is just insane.

Also, the Heir to the Empire series of Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn are actually awesome. They do the classic triology justice.

Crazy Horse: The Strange Man of the Oglalas by Mari Sandoz surprised me by how cool it was. It read more like an old western novel than a biography. It was pretty killer.

That's what School is for. You think anyone actually studies in High School? Pfft....

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Don't worry, Mallow disappears fairly quickly, I think. I might be confusing the name with another character though, it's pretty late.

I'll be on my own side.

The Bourne Identity-Robert Ludlum

The Bourne Supremacy-Robert Ludlum

The Bourne Ultimatum-Robert Ludlum

The Halo books are good, but not as engrossing or complex as the Bourne series

1984 And Animal Farm, By Orwell, are required reading for any future dystopia becomes common knowledge.

Fahrenheit 451, is a good book on censorship.

Asimov, most of his early work is good.

Arthur C Clarke, for sure. Some of his visions show up in Halo 2, if you're observant.

T S Eliot.

Heinlein's already been mentioned...

The Caine Mutiny is a good book, but not sci fi.

The Godfather, Mario Puzo. An excellent read.

Gadsby, the ENTIRE book is written without an "E's". Not one.

The Illiad, Homer.

Catch-22.

But, the book that I'm most excited about isn't out yet. Accelerando, is a piece of Sci Fi, and the write up of the novel can be found HERE.

Whoops can't believe I forgot to mention him.

Try looking up Neil Gaiman.

Neverwhere was pretty damn entertaining as was American Gods. Both sort of surreal novels about fairy tales taking place in the modern world. Twists and turns always along the way. Also he co-wrote Good Omens which is a gutbuster about Apocalypse, with humor in the same vein as Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It focuses on British humor so I may not get everything, but it's still a good read nonetheless.

Though you might be looking for traditional text reads, don't discount comics/graphical novels. Gaiman's Sandman series are fine pieces of literary work. The main character Dream/Morpheus is pretty damn moppy at times, but thats just part of the story and his sister Death more than makes up for it with her perky pragmatism.

I also hear the Watchmen is pretty good as well...though I forgot who authored it.

The graphical novel form of Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, is very good, expanding on the already great film's story and characters. Interesting to see a pacifist heroine who doesn't always need saving. She does her share of kicking ass and taking names.

One comic I'm following at the moment is Fables by Bill Willingham. Basically storybook characters living amoung humans in modern day New York. Main characters include Big Bad Wolf (Bigbby for short) and Snow White trying to cope with life outside of their storybook world. Intelligently written, it's a nice change of pace from the superhero stuff pushed by DC and Marvel nowadays.

I personally liked Fiction. Any fiction suits me. Anyone have any good fiction books in mind? Comdey's O.K. but I love my fiction books.

Some books I've read are:

- The Ender's series (Ender's Game, ect)
- The Forgotten Realms series (Drizzt Do'Urden, ect)
- The Halo series (of course)
- (This is kind of kiddish but...) The Redwall Collection by Brian Jacques
- Some of the Diablo (game's spinoff) books
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (and off the record, I read them before the movies came out)
- Also a book called "Jackdaws" by Ken Follett -> about a group of women spec ops in WW2 (fiction, but dedicated to the real women spec ops team of WW2)

On a side note: I'm getting The Art of War for Christmas so I'll be reading that soon also.

If any of you have some "must-reads" to offer along the lines of fictional literature, drop me a PM and I would gladly take any suggesstions. Thanks.

Try the "A Song Of Ice and Fire" series by George R.R. Martin if you like fantasy fiction. Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series is also a good collection, but it already has ten books, and it's not even finished yet.

Simple tips for great book series:

a) Find your local Warhammer shop.
b) Ignore the stupid kids and models, and pick up all of the "Gaunts ghosts" series.
c) Pay for it, yeah?
d) READ IT ALL SEVERAL TIMES.

If you like the Halo looks and any other types of books ever you will love this.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Lol, good job there Kendoboy.

I heard somebody mention the Warhammer series before. I've played Warhammer 40K (beta and the actual game) and I loved it. My friend is reading the books and he highly recommends them. Mind you, he's not one to usually read much, like myself, so I can only assume that its a good series seeing as everyone I've seen talk about the series has been raving about it.

Hmm, I honestly have too many favorites to list, but I'll try to sum up as best I can...

* The Forgotten Realms Series

Opinion: Drizzt & Co. at their best!

* The Redwall Series

Opinion: Yes, childish, but excellent

* The Silmarillian

Opinion: One book to start them all...

* A Series of Unfortunate Events

Opinion: It would be unfortunate if you didn't read these!

I think I hate Tom Clancy. I tried reading a couple of his books but they were extraordinarily boring, and I have the same opinon about his games.
