rockets only home onto vehicles not people so you can still be skillful with them

SB-117

I think it will make you weigh the pros and cons of vehicle comandeering. Now theres a lot more strategy and this simply adds to it. Im agreeing with bungie implementation of target tracking. Banshees were alittle too hard to shoot down in multiplayer...

Further there are going to be times when you'll want to track your rockets and other times when you'll desire that perfect straight line firing. It's all good and balanced.

i think that if you are handy anough whit your warthog you can still dodge the rockets so it gives more fun to the game

i'm pretty good with a RL. i can hit almost any vehicle (except banshees) really easy without the aid of target traking. even in MP i don't really have much of a problem jumping out of the way, turning, firing, and sending my buddy to the 8th level of hell.

Can you track rockets to rockets?

the only problems i see with the rockets are scorpions and how good they track you down. There has to be some ability of dodging them.

So what? Let the rockets hit you. If a warthog can take four rockets then the tank must be able to take more. Just don't let them hit the driver's compartment while you're aiming at the shooter.

Oh, additionally, the driver's compartment may not be exposed in Halo2. There's an armoured fuel tank on the Scorpion though. Not sure how that will work but it sounds like they have to bust through the armour over the tank to blow it up.

yea but still, it is almost worthless to jump into a tank. Yea the tank may take more, but can you?

Yes. In halo2 damage to vehicles is seperate from damage to persons. If you're in the warthog and someone hits the rear bumper with a rocket the driver takes no damage at all. (The gunner however might be toast or quite badly hurt however)

yeah i was wonderin, do u think a hit to the back of the scorpion will kill the driver? Everybody goes on about a WH can take 4 hits before it blows sky high but as far as i can see the only thing that matters is how many hits it takes for a passenger of any kind to die
- my current understanding is that on any vehicles one hit from a RL kills the driver (and any other passengers)

Fortunately not anymore. Wort took three rockets and was still alive and driving the warthog before the last rocket blew him sky high. Halo2 is going to kick buttocks.

Can you imagine the result of a WH at full speed getting hit by multiple rockets simultaneously front on! I can't wait to see what the physics engine is like...

January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Death Jester - Watch the MP videos of E3 2004. They do not die with one rocket it still takes a couple. The driver is only damaged if the splash damage makes it to the driver compartment.

Draeden - When Bungie talked about the fuel tank on the the tank it was for the Wraith. Here is the quote.
As an example, you can blast away the armor covering a Wraith tank's fuel tank with several well placed shots. Then, once it's left vulnerable, a solid snipe to the fuel tank can light it up, Jerry-Bruckheimer-Style.

If the Warthog can take four rockets the Scorpian should be able to take up to eight rockets before it dies. Though the Scorpian will also have some more vulnerable areas to take advantage, causing it to be destroyed faster.

you know, the rocket launcher can still shoot straight if you want it to... just aim ahead of the vehicle and don't lock on..
