Subject: What would you like the Enemy A.I. to do?

SB-117

What kind of behaviour would you like to see the covenantact out. E.g. try to hide behind an ally to avaoid getting jit. A brute bashing an elite whos in his way etc.

One thing I would be very greatful to see is little rivalries and cowardice amounst your enemies. And teamwork, lets not forget teamwork.

Teamwork e.g. A bunch of grunts working together to rectify a horizontal shade.
Cowardice e.g. A grunt being so scared of your presence that he boards an allies ghost to get the hell away from you.
Rivalries e.g. Elites and Brutes slighty battling against each other to claim your death (like that brute knocking down an ally part at the start of this post) Would would you like to see the AI in halo2 do?

PS Please refrain from such posts as "I would like to see a grunt humping Master Chief" as its kind of immature..... Anyway...What would you like to see the covie bastards do? Or even the flood?

i'd like to see an elite use a grunt as a human shield until his shields recharge. i'd like to see hunters step over grunts and jackals and kill them like in the book as they are inferior to it

lol that human shield sounds like a sight to behold, if you have any more ideas please post them I really want to see other peoples opinion of this.

I want the A.I. to be more aggressive on legendary. There were times in halo when they could have all come at you instead of waiting to get popped off.

Lol like a riot! Unfortunately I dont think bungie will make the covenant so stupid as to fight this dramatically infront of their worst enemy....still...that really made me laugh.

A broader specturm of responses to different actions that occur. Okay, let me say that again with an example. You round the corner in New Mombasa and BLAM theres a golden Elite there and he's holding an anti-son-of-a--blam!- weapon (the energy blade) and he spots you. Then he does his thing where he throws his hands into the air and growls cuz he's all pissed at you and then slashes you open. Then you come back and start at the last checkpoint. You round that same corner and but he's not there. And you stand there for a second because you cant figure out where he went. Well, you take a few more steps and that elite jumps out from an alley and slashes ya and you die. You come back at the same check point and round that same corner and then theres a different response.

What i'm saying is that hopefully there wont be so much repeating of responses amongst the enemies and even the chiefs allies like the marines and ODST's and what not.
Okay you are confused now...

No im not confused. Its kind of like that Far Cry game I guess. If youre seen or spotted by an enemy, later on, there will be more enemies guarding a specific place, however if your not seen, theres less security...are you talking about something similar to that..

Ha! Ha! At least come up with your own immature comment...

Pose a strategically smart challenge. If I every die on Legendary, its not because I was outsmarted, its because the Covenants shots are too powerful.

Bungie say the covenant will be smarter this time no worries there. What I mean is what individual things would you like to see the covenant do.

zamamee, grunts aren't human, it would be a covenant shield

I dont really know. I'd like to see Grunts and Jackals have a melee attack. Of course, it would have to be very weak, and they would end up saying something about their throbbing hand.

I don't know if I'd like that. Maybe a different response from the Elite, like instead of the hiding and ambushing (which how the hell would it know you were coming? That';s the whole point of the checkpoints, they don't) it rolls out of the way and then attacks with the blade.

Different response yes, ambushing without prior knowledge no. Same goes for the more enemies guarding an area the second time through like in Far Cry or whatever it is. We don't need that. Halo had a good formula and I'd like to see it return with smarter enemies, not ones that know you are coming your second time through.

As for my own ideas.....

Zealous Grunts. Ones that through themselves at you until you expend all your ammunition, like in The Fall of Reach. Maybe even have them a bit less cowardly, ya know, a Grunt to be reckoned with.

lol that was funny.

I think I would like to see somesort of leg boost thing where the covies give each other boosts up the wall or something. So, if your on a cliff and you think they'll never give up...think again.

Ok I think the brute should do the following:

1) Knock out little jackals and grunts that are in its way (maybe elite too)
2) Leap off walls to reach you.
3) Throw corpses at you when theyre angry
4) When boarding a marine pilots vehicle he should pick them up by the face, snap their back and throw them away.
5) Jump from their own vehicle and attempt to board yours in the same jump...

Those would be great things for the Brutes to do. I'd like to see them do things like in the planet of the Apes (the newer one). I would like to see them barrel run after you on all fours, run along the walls for a limited time ( to jump attack you) , tackle marines and just keep slamming their fists into their armor until the soldier died, and get mad at an Elite and have a little Civil war thing going on.

Oh yeah, and I would definately like it if hunters tried to pincer you or force you into a corner...that would be very challenging then, instead of the pushover hunters are in halo1

How about a phalanx of Hunters? Have like 8 hunters coming after you at the same time? They should also be in formation so you can't get their weak spots. Since they're hunters you can't nade them either. So you'd be pretty screwed. Make this a level past Legendary, like Epic or something. This could be right infront of a Prophet and his escort brutes. The way you can defeat this is to break up the formation and draw the fire of everyone and stick close to the hunters so that they wipe each other out. Any ideas?

I like the Hunter idea, but there will be no reason to make a difficulty past Legendary. You know why? The AI is significantly improved from Halo 1 in Halo 2. Meaning the Covenant will be giving you a much harder time in any difficulty mode. Which is good. With the imporved AI Legendary will seem much harder then it did in the first game, thus giving you a new challenge.

I would like to see a more tactical approach from the enemies. Lets say an elite is with a group of jackals and the elite has a carbine. I would love to see the elite order the jackals to raise their shield to protect him from fire while he fires upon you. Say more tactical cordination where instead of master chief coming toward the enemy they try to flank him or strike him first. That would truly be a sight to behold. It would also be nice to see the enemy be more awarre of its allies.
